The greatest danger today is not climate change, but institutional stupidity causing it.
While individuals in corporations are generally good and well-meaning, as soon as you form an organization, it takes on a life of its own and it is common for the outcomes to be lacking in common-sense and humanity.
Right now, these institutions and governments hold our future in their hands and their solutions are completely off the mark and will waste more precious time, which we simply cannot afford... The World Bank states, "People are losing their lives and livelihoods because of the disastrous effects of climate change.”
They then state what every sensible person knows, that we must fight the cause.
And then NOT $1 out of $200 BILLION will be spent addressing the cause of both global desertification and climate change!
If the World Bank spent less than 5% of that money on addressing the cause, which is without any shadow of a doubt our reductionist management, we would see a different world, offering hope for billions of people.
While our institutions blame livestock, coal and oil for desertification and climate change, these are resources and can never cause a problem.
It is 100% certain that it is the way we manage those resources that is causing climate change. No act of nature, or anything else, is causing our problems.
So the issue today is how on earth do we get the media and public to wake up and start insisting we address the cause of our problems, not the symptoms?
