It’s sick time! 🤒 Well, technically it’s over for me but it’s time to post about it! If you are going through a cold or something more serious, I’d love to help you out with a few tips that helped me the most. Some of them are pretty obvious, but if you find at least one that helps you next time when you aren’t feeling the best, it’s worth it!
Also, I’m sorry to everyone who I didn’t text back, I didn’t feel like using social media in the past week. I’m going to reply soon 🧡
Sleep! A lot. This is your best medicine.
Braid your hair! There’s a lot of sneezing, coughing, snot and steam involved in the process, and you definitely don’t want to carry bacteria in your hair
Steam inhalation with herbs and essential oils! Peppermint and eucalyptus oil are life savers for a stuffed nose, I like to add a few drops to boiled camomile (be sure to use oils that are safe for inhaling)
Use a neti pot! Breaks up any congestion in your nose
Take a hot bath, don’t go cheap on the water! Mother earth takes a way better use of you when you are healthy
Hydrate!!! Lemon water worked the best for me
Healing tonic: juice of 1🍋, 1 tbsp fresh ginger, 1 tsp turmeric, black pepper to 3 cups of water
Have light foods and liquids! I was having lots of orange-lemon juice, fresh fruit and veg soup
Fast if you’re not hungry. Works wonders!
Peppermint, marjoram, lavender, eucalyptus, rosemary and yarrow oils are amazing at pain relief, muscle relax and reducing inflammation. Mix a few drops in a carrier oil, like coconut and ask someone with warm and soft palms to massage your sore back
Change, let in some fresh breeze every day!
Do some mild yoga 🧘🏽♀️ Meditate/have a conversation with yourself about healing
Take your vitamins
I’m finishing how I started: sleep is your best doctor, so if you can’t make it, take that pain relief pill or any medicine you think might actually help you, but only after you have done your research.
