Looking back at this semester, I have realized how far I have grown as an artist. I didn't take any photo classes, which is a bummer, but I took a Contempory Art course. I got to say, it was one of my favorite courses I have ever taken throughout my academic career by far.
I have learned so much, and I was exposed so many contemporary artists that I find so influential and inspiring. It has made an impact in the way I critically think about the arts and everyday activities in general.
This semester, an exhibition was held for an artist, Pao Houa Her, at the Center of the Arts. Her series "My Mother's Flowers", resonated so much to me, as a Hmong woman and as an artist that uses flowers in many of my works as a means for symbolism and identity. I wrote about her work and I am so happy I was able to see her work in person and hear her talk about her work. Looking forward to many more of her works of art!
