The @redcourthomestead estate was established by the Macarthur family in the 1860s and originally comprised some 16 square kilometres. The original homestead was destroyed by fire in about 1908 and a replacement was erected closer to Bairnsdale in 1909. The Macarthurs sold Redcourt in 1967 and the estate was sub-divided. From 1982-1996 Redcourt was home to a parachuting and microlight aircraft flying school.
A café was opened in 2001 and started to host weddings soon afterwards. By 2007 the café had closed but the wedding and function business was flourishing.
Ray and Tanya Rock acquired Redcourt in 2016.
There is a formal garden for the wedding ceremony, plenty of photo opportunities around the estate and the receptions are held in the 110-year-old former woolshed.
The catering is all handled in house and they can accommodate 60 to 120 guests for a hot spit roast dinner. The bar and live music are licensed up to 1 o’clock in the morning.
The bride has exclusive use of the venue for the day and can spend some time with them at Redcourt a day or two beforehand to make sure everything is set up perfectly for her big day.
Redcourt is good value too. A memorable wedding for 90 guests costing about $5000.
