Allow me to get personal for a second.
My birthday is tomorrow and I'm taking donations to support the Humboldt Broncos via the Saskatoon Community Foundation.
Last January, my father passed away from a sudden heart attack. To say it was totally unexpected is an understatement. My family and I have been devastated, but the one thing that's gotten me through has been ice hockey. The atmosphere and the community have been so supportive and loving that I wanted to do my part with the Humboldt community.
If you don't know, in April of this year, the hockey team was traveling to a championship game when they were struck by an 18 wheeler. The majority of the team was killed including their head coach. Some have just recently left the hospital, but are now going through rehab. The community of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada has created a fund to help the families and community recover from the tragic loss.
For my birthday, I'm raising $150 for the memorial foundation and if you would like to donate, I have the PayPal pool linked: paypal.me/pools/c/86fd8nd9gm. Donations will be accepted until August 20th.
Please consider donating, but feel no pressure to. Thank you for helping the community and the love of hockey.
