I have always had an extremely healthy relationship with food, and I never realized how grateful I am for that until I began to connect with more and more people, especially on IG, who seem to have had a strenuous relationship with food in the past that they have overcome. I am so proud of those individuals, although I never fully grasped their struggle. . . Everyone struggles with something, no one is free of struggle. On those days when you feel like your struggle is getting to you, know that you are never, ever alone in that because the person sitting next to you may be struggling with the same thing or something different and it’s always difficult. We are all human, imperfect and beautiful. Learn on your fellow humans for support with whatever you may be working through because even though they may not struggle with that specific issue, they still know struggle in some way. . . I want to send love to all that struggle with #foodfreedom and although it is not a focus on my page, know that I am always here for you, to support you and love you. You are never alone ❤️

SUNDAY PANCAKES 🥞 Bananas Foster pancakes with toasted pecans 🍌 Here’s the thing...I don’t like to give pancakes a major nutrition overhaul. Pancakes are supposed to be fluffy/tender and that’s difficult to do with making lots of substitutions. I eat Pancakes 2-3 times per month so when I have them I want the real deal. I always use a pancake base consisting of (real) milk or buttermilk, eggs, butter, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Those are the things you need for leavening, flavor enhancement, protein, and structure development. Plus, when you start making substitutions, you lose the true integrity of the recipe. The only thing I tweak slightly are my flour ratios. For this one I used a 2:1 AP to Whole Wheat ratio. I wanted to do that because the banana fosters topping is quite sweet and adding the wheat flour would help balance that a little better and compliment the toasted pecans 🤙🏼 #Pancakes #FoodScience #DontMessWithMyPancakes

Gluten-free Crispy Chocolate PB Crepe this morning 😊 I’m personally not gluten-free but throw in the FYI just in case anyone is 🤗 Don’t let the fancy looking cacao drizzle fool you either I threw this together QUICK👌🏼 Made a bunch of crepes the other night and refrigerated them so this morning I just heated it up, topped w my fav @bakeryonmain gluten-free granola, some Lily’s stevia-sweetened crispy chocolate bar, and crunchy peanut butter 💯 Prepping a few items ahead of time makes eating healthy so much easier🙌🏼 especially bc on the weekends I like to get out of the apartment and enjoy the day so a lot of times I’m eating on the go😈 - #whatimeating : •1/2 recipe butternut squash pancakes(recipe in highlight, leave out baking soda for crepe) •1/4 c @bakeryonmain Bunches of Crunches granola •2 squares @lilys_sweets_chocolate crispy chocolate bar •2 T @traderjoes crunchy flaxseed pb •2 tsp @navitasorganics cacao powder(mix w water to form drizzle) - Do you guys like to take it slow on Sundays or do you like to get out and take advantage of the day? There’s just something about potatoes and eggs. 🍳🍠 Recreating a kitchen classic that was classically served up every weekend at my house when I was growing up. My dad always threw in salami and squirt of ketchup which I though was odd... but now I eat everything with mustard (and carry a bottle of it in my purse at all times, because I’m convinced it goes with everything... and I’m not kidding ). Toasting to this BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I challenged myself this morning and joined a friend at @fit9atl 👍🏻⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I was nervous about the running portion and also wasn’t sure how I would keep up with the boxing 🥊 part as well. The instructor and owner were so sweet this morning and introduced themselves to me right when I came in which already put me at ease.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Also something I realized? If you’re not familiar with a class, it definitely can ease your nerves going with a friend who has gone before. I am not the biggest fan of running at a fast speed and it was like they read my mind this morning. Today’s class on the skillmill was all about distance and I was a BIG fan of that. I was setting my own goal without thinking about anyone around me. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ @fit9atl is definitely one of those places that you can say after, “I DID IT!” I love the feeling of accomplishment and feeling stronger after a tough class. Rainy Sunday mornings call for nice bowl of oats 😊 steel-cut oats are something I normally stay away from because 1. I had every intention to meditate....but got distracted 🐱🧘🏼‍♀️ enjoying a little mindfulness regardless with my girl. How healing are animals! • This little one has been my angel, a real mummy’s girl since we took her home from @sydneydogsandcatshome • When I came across Sooty (as was her name at the home!) I instantly felt a connection. We already had Yoshi 🐱 at home and hubs was concerned at how he would react so I was dragged home leaving Sooty behind.... • All night I lay in bed thinking of this cat, just knowing she was meant to be with me. So the next morning, I called the shelter and said I was on my way back to get her! Terrified that in between the time we’d left to when I called that she would be adopted out. • I took her home, gave her a new name - Willow - and she has been attached to my hip ever since. Two weeks later, my dad passed away and this little one honestly got me through some really dark times. She felt like an angel! • I’m quite honestly obsessed with her 😂

Run, don’t walk, to your oven to make these PUMPKIN BAKED OATS 🎃 • Now that I’m sure I’ve started a frenzy, let me tell you why I love baked oats: 1. A big batch of them is so easy to #mealprep for a busy week where you need some grab and go nourishment 2. Baked oats are breakfast cake, you heard it here first 3. There a crowd pleaser. I’ve literally never met anyone who didn’t like baked oats. And, frankly, if that person exists, I don’t need that negativity in my life. • #dEATS: Pumpkin Baked Oats Preheat oven to 400 Combine 1.5 cups of oats 1/2 cup of #glutenfree pumpkin flour (@traderjoes) 1/2 cup of flaked coconut (@bobsredmill) 1 tsp of baking soda pinch of salt 1.5 scoops of collagen powder (@furtherfood ) 2 tsp of cinnamon 1 tsp of ginger 1 tsp of cardamom 1 tsp of nutmeg 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar 1 tsp of baking powder Add wet ingredients to blender (makes pumpkin well-dispersed): 1 egg 2 tbsp of canned organic pumpkin (@traderjoes) 1 can of coconut milk 12 drops of monk fruit drops (@smart138foods) 1 tbsp of oil Add wet mixture to dry, and mix until well combined. Line baking dish with oil and pour mixture in. Cook for 45 minutes; check if cooked all the way through, if not add 5-10 minutes until it is. We had every single ingredient on hand so this recipe didn't cost any extra money!! That's the best part! We tried something new for free! We decided for the rest of the year we are going to try one new recipe a week to keep things fresh because we have to eat and it's already in our budget to buy groceries. Rainy Sunday mornings call for nice bowl of oats 😊 steel-cut oats are something I normally stay away from because 1. I’ve been doing a lot of speaking lately on holistic living and balance and it’s instilling the reason that I started this business in the first place. ⠀⠀ It’s so easy, for me anyway, to fall away from my WHY when things get stressful and hard. I want to throw in the towel and walk away. ⠀⠀ But these last few weeks have reminded me why I started. Why I care and the impact that I want to make. And why I can’t walk away. ⠀⠀ I do what I do here, because I want change. I want you to be educated in your food choices and in your life choices so you can show up as the healthiest version of yourself. And by healthy, I don’t mean your diet. I mean mentally. Mentally showing up everyday knowing that you are doing your best, for yourself and for your family. I want us to be raising children that are full of knowledge in this area and know the importance of balance and fighting for that they believe in. ⠀⠀ When we, as mothers set that example - making time for ourselves, fueling ourselves with nutritious food, moving our bodies and putting our health first in all areas of life - our kids will see that and they will live that change. I’ve found it’s made me more productive with my school work - for example: if I know that I only have 1 hour for my homework, that hour is a solid and focused hour, instead of knowing I’ve got the whole day and end up wasting many hours! find what works for you - personally, I love writing everything down in my planner + my to-do list, making set breaks (that means putting my phone in the other room while I’m on work mode!), and knowing that I am way more productive at 9am than 9pm! Made these Tyler Florence Blueberry Scones during a recent meditation retreat that I helped cook for...with regular, gf, began and sf options. They were delicious:)! when i won the @sweatsandbalances giveaway to attend the #ultrafitfest i was so, so thrilled! a weekend of fitness 💪🏻 and food 😋 and in the city i grew up in?! i mean, what could be better! but then, the nerves started to kick in. i didn’t know who was going to be there. who would i hang with, go to classes and sit at meals with? i’m fully aware these sound like such small worries to have when you’re given a free trip, but i know we’ve all been there before. what i learned this weekend, especially after listening to the ever so inspiring @jera.bean at her fireside chat, is that it’s OKAY to be fearful and anxious. but don’t allow those feelings to paralyze you from reaching new heights 🙌🏻 i am so thankful i pushed myself to go out of my comfort zone this weekend. i met some amazing likeminded people from all over, had the chance to connect with new faces from nyc, and try some fitness classes that had me smiling ear to ear the entire time (hayyy @vixenworkout) thank you @sweatsandbalances for giving me this opportunity 🌵💕😘 #calynbrooke #ultrafitfest #liveultra
