💦Sweaty Sunday — Me and Brandon were chatting the other day about something that I have been struggling with lately and he turned and looked at me and said — “What hard do you want : The one you choose or the one you’re forced to react to?” 😳 ... It stopped me dead in my tracks. Think about it. Do you want to choose your “hard” or just go through life reacting to the hard things that may come in your path. I have to say I will choose my hard. Because I know they will mold me, strengthen me. And I will be more ready for the tuff stuff that I may not have control over. This has helped me look at my situation differently. I already feel stronger by choosing my hard 💪🏼

FAILED! 😂 alright guys, so I couldn’t go the gym today, so I decided to try and at-home ab workout... needless to say, I’m pretty sure my abs are nonexistent 😅😅 - I was supposed to do 25 of each exercise plus a few others for a total of five rounds and honestly I couldn’t even get to through 25 of each exercise, lol. I’ve never done a bicycle crunch before, and boy does it show 😂 - But at least I have a starting point now and can move forward from here 😅 the important thing is to improve! So hopefully after a month of this, I’ll be able to show you guys an improvement video! Lol - Remember that is okay to laugh at yourself! And it’s okay to not be perfect :) - I didn’t finish the five rounds, I did three more rounds but slowly and focusing on hitting 25 of each. Whole30-friendly pumpkin bowl this morning 🎃🍌 I never would have thought to make these before doing Whole30, but I’m still loving these bowls a month later. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The base was a whole can of pumpkin with 190g (cooked) egg whites, ground cinnamon, and cracked sea salt mixed in. SUNDAY -fun- day The plan for today: drink lots of water! That simple. My body is SORE from yesterday. I decided to do do some heavy lifting and I’m not regretting that decision at all. Sometime Instagram can make you feel like you have do some fancy things in the gym, but lately I’ve been doing what I want and it makes my workouts so much more enjoyable. You don’t have to do anything fancy! I ran on the treadmill for 2.5 miles and then did some squats, lunges, deadlifts with KB and guess what? That’s as fancy as my workout got! Results revealed that those who engaged in rigid eating strategies had higher body-mass index (an imperfect but useful measure of body size), higher anxiety, and experienced greater mood disturbances and eating disorder symptoms, including binge eating. - What this study (and plenty of others) shows is that a black & white/all or nothing approach is an ineffective strategy for long term weight loss AND mental health. Ok, así empecé yo...😄 1️⃣DESHAZTE de todos esos alimentos PROCESADOS que tengas en la despensa, frigorífico, congelador... esos alimentos que sabes que no te ayudan en tus objetivos. Esto no significa que no los vayas a probar nunca más pero será mejor que los reserves para días contados.☺️ 2️⃣SUSTITUYE en tu lista de compra esos alimentos PROCESADOS por alimentos más SALUDABLES. Empieza buscando su “VERSIÓN LIGHT”, por ejemplo: Zero, light, desnatado, bajo en sal... poco a poco. 3️⃣APUESTA por lo INTEGRAL y disminuye las cantidades de pan, galletas...🍪 4️⃣INCLÍNATE por la CARNE MAGRA, HUEVOS, PESCADO... La carne de TERNERA y CERDO limítalo a 1-2 veces por semana. 5️⃣CONTROLA las PORCIONES (Esto no significa comer como un 🐤 y pasar hambre).☺️ 6️⃣COME 5-6 COMIDAS al día. 7️⃣Mantente ACTIVO. Si puedes ir al gym y combinar las pesas con el cardio, genial!! Si no puedes por “X” razón, tienes miles de ejercicios para hacer en casa, salir a andar (a buen ritmo🙏🏻, no de paseo...😒), correr, andar en bici,... sería ideal que planearas seguir una rutina para la semana. 8️⃣Y por ÚLTIMO... un básico, BEBE AGUA!!!💦 Si quieres empezar a cambiar tus hábitos, tienes que ir POCO a POCO. No té OBSESIONES en llenar tu casa de un día para otro con productos saludables, naturales, ecológicos... los cambios que duran se dan poco a poco y esa es la forma en la que se CONSTRUYE el hábito. No tengas PRISA en llegar a tu objetivo, los cambios tarde o temprano van a llegar. CONCÉNTRATE en hacer de esto un ESTILO DE VIDA y eso es lo que te llevará a una MEJOR VERSIÓN por dentro y por fuera.😊💕

Food psychologist Brian Wansink was recently featured on the @noahkagan podcast to talk about mindless eating, and he's written a book by the same name (Mindless Eating). Brian talks about how many of our eating habits are affected by our environment, and that we can easily eat more consciously by changing a few habits. He recommends putting unhealthy snacks in a cupboard and out of sight, putting the healhier food at eye level in the refrigerator, and using smaller plates. He even says if you have a fruit bowl sitting out in your kitchen, you're going to weigh an average of 12 lbs. less than your neighbor! . I am off for a week up the lakes this week! Work has been manic and feel I have had no “me time”. So a week off work and a trip to my favourite place feels like just what I need! Banana 🍌 and Peanut 🥜 Butter French Toast 🇫🇷🍞 Pure go slow this morning for me, but nice and chilled. Dipped the bread 🍞 in egg whites as I had some leftover. Fried with fry light. ( ah, mas esses outros alimentos tem mais nutrientes. mas não estamos dizendo q você deve viver APENAS de macarrão. A sua dieta deve ser variada, nutritiva e SUSTENTÁVEL. Como estamos post é sobre emagrecimento, estamos comparando apenas kcal, ok?). No entanto, o macarrão vem sendo demonizado injustamente e eu sinceramente não entendo o motivo. E O GLÚTEN? A presença do glúten não é um problema uma vez que você não tem doença celíaca ou hipersensibilidade e já tenho vários posts aqui explicando e detalhando a polêmica do glúten. De acordo com a tabela internacional de índice glicêmico publicada no Diabetes Care (A revista cientifica com maior fator de impacto sobre diabetes) o índice glicêmico do espaguete BRANCO é de mais ou menos 49 (BAIXO INDICE GLICÊMICO). Pois é, isso mesmo, espaguete branco é de baixo índice glicêmico. DICAS: 1 – Não demonizem alimentos sem justificativas 2 – Não supervalorizem o índice glicêmico dos alimentos. 3 – Talvez, a maior dificuldade das pessoas seja a “maturidade”. Se tem na prescrição 100g de aipim, a substituição é 100g de macarrão (não aumentem rs). 4 – O problema não é o glúten, é a gula 😉 5 – Não tem problema você não comer macarrão.
