Has this ever happened to you? You leave the house for a jam packed day of errands and activities but don’t bring anything with you to eat for later. Hours go by and suddenly you realize you’re really hungry. So you feverishly search your car or purse to find something to eat, only to come up empty handed? And the next thing you know you’re stopping by a convenience store for anything you can get your hands on or rolling through the drive thing to at least order something to get you through until you get home. # This is a common occurrence with many people I talk to. Often times they either forget to pack snacks or don’t even know what healthy options are available for them. # That’s not to say you even have to snack throughout the day, but it’s good to have some go to options for when a full meal you can sit down for isn’t realistic. I always recommend that meals and snacks include some protein, as it’s best for keeping your blood sugar stable which will help you avoid that hangry feeling. Plus, most people have a difficult time getting enough protein as it is, so fitting some in throughout the day is never a bad idea. # These are great options for convenient sources of protein that are good for eating on the run. Obviously some will need to be packed in a cooler if you’re planning to be away for multiple hours, but some require no refrigeration and can be stored away for emergency situations. # I’m just including protein options here, but it would be even better to include a little something else as well. Fruit, nuts, rice cakes, or raw veggies would make a great addition to many of these for a well balanced, healthy snack or mini meal. . Happy Monday ☺️ Scroll for recipe 🥞 Repost @rachelsplate_ 🍓 ・・・ BANANA BREAD PROTEIN WAFFLES 🍌 with a chocolate peanut butter sauce 🤤 . Finally got round to using the waffle maker that’s been hidden in the loft at home for about 2 years! I always thought I was a pancake kinda gal but these have seriously changed my mind 😍 and they’re literally the EASIEST thing to make! 🙏🏼 . RECIPE: • mash 1 ripe banana, then whisk together with one egg and a splash of almond milk. Add a sachet of @proteinworld slender pancake mix, 1tbsp of oats, and 1tsp baking powder and stir until combined. Pour mix into waffle maker and cook until golden. SAUCE: mix 2tbsp @pbfit.uk powdered peanut butter with 1 scoop of chocolate whey (I used @myproteinuk) and add water until smooth 🥜 . Mountain bread pizza after a loooong morning of three training sessions. Today was one of those days where I expected one thing and got the exact flippin’ opposite. All in all, it’s fine (all work related). In fact, some of the crazy of today could potentially help for bigger and better things in the future! But I did not plan well, and ultimately that’s where my downfall was today. I wasn’t expecting to work as long as I did. I was frustrated about things I couldn’t control. Life, am I right? So, when I finally had a break, I took myself to a little sanctuary about 20 minutes away. I got an vegan soft serve, and this nacho plate became my lunch AND dinner. Al pastor jackfruit, vegan cheese sauce and crema, pickled jalapeño, chopped tomatoes, salsa verde, navy beans, and cilantro all on corn tortilla chips.
