Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation.
This weekend Kyle and I had a plan to go to The Red to climb, try out his new trad rack, take photos, and finish up some film work he had to do. It seemed like the perfect plan because we finally had good weather all weekend. I was itching to climb at The Red - it’s 4 hours from Nashville and the best place to climb in the southeast. We also booked this cute pink cabin on @!
We both woke up yesterday morning terribly sick and had no will to climb, so we ended up driving all the way back to Nashville. Sometimes trips are amazing, and sometimes everything goes wrong. There’s really no way to plan, you just gotta go out there, hope for the best, and look for the positive if nothing goes according to plan. On the bright side, I did listen to the entire first season of @ on the drive, and I’m hooked!
How do you guys deal with expectations for a big trip?
