Okay. I am aware this story is a year old but that shouldn’t matter. I still hear people say “why isn’t there a straight pride” and shit like that. THIS is why. We celebrate who we are because people do this to us. They target us. And I was asked “why do you celebrate in a month? Why not every day? Why not be proud every day?” Honestly we have this month because of the stonewall riots (I’ll post about that on June 28th because that’s the anniversary) but also we have a month because it’s a time where we can come together. We are proud everyday but this is a period of time we can come together and celebrate together. When I first came out I felt alone. Things like pride and gsa made me not feel alone.
