There are some memories which make you smile every time you think about it . This is one such incident. We were waiting very patiently at the pandharpauni lake in tadoba where we were seeing some movement. The grass was moving. Lot of pug marks were there near the road showing the signs that the tiger is inside . All the guides were very firm on waiting patiently. After nearly half an hr , the queen of tadoba ' Maya ' emerged out of the grass . We were stunned to see this royal entry . She emerged as if she ownd the jungle . How charismatic ! But the best was yet to come. Within few seconds , these two cubs jumped out of the grass & started a race with one another . What a magical sight ! Three wild tigers standing right in front of my eyes . I could not believe what I was witnessing. Lake and the morning golden light was amazing . The best part was they were least bothered about our presence . After playing for ample amount of time , they went inside the jungle giving us countless memories. One thing is for sure. I will remember this scene forever. Thanks a lot @k.h.a.n.a.b.a.d.o.s.h for this wonderful experience Thank you @beyondwild for the amazing service . Be it accommodation , food or transport. Credit to @sandesh.guru : Curious sub adults are always fun to watch! I have posted about Junabai and her cubs since a while. In the past four months, the cubs and their behaviour is changing. From cubs to an adult, there is a lot more they learn and one of the most interesting part is ‘Stalking’. Stalking does not only mean to stalk the prey; but also observed when the sub adults start having play fights. This incredibly beautiful female sub adult stalks and shows up herself to be the dominant one of the three! It doesn't always help looking forward, you gotta look behind your back to check if your past is still chasing you. The male having bright red eyes looks boldly into the lens while female tries to shy away from it December 2018 Dandeli, Karnataka cc @sherry.waitforit.berry

Tiger Tiger Burning Bright! . This is another one of the beautiful tigress that gave a solo cat walk for us at Bandipur on my first safari of 2019. This was also the first ever time that a tiger from Bandipur acted like a tiger from the central or north Indian jungle rather than just running away. #tiger #tigress #wild #wildlife #animal #mammal #feline #bigcat #nationalanimal #queen #female #photography #nikon #nikonindiaofficial #natgeo #bbc #discovery #bokeh #color #lit #light #forest #wilderness #stripes #eyes #bold #beautiful #indianwildlifeofficial #indianwildlife #headon

Where there is weakness, there is a fall! As the cub grows to be a potential competitor to the father’s territory, it would be a hard time for the father to sacrifice his territory to this young male. An interesting incident happened a few days ago and here is the story behind it! Matkasur, a male who has been controlling the Tadoba lake area was seen by one of the lodge naturalist, @jigneshpatel_jd on a morning drive resting in the Jamunbodi lake. He was seen relaxed, unaware of what would happen in the coming days. On the same day, he left the area and left to a different part of his own territory. Shera, the son of Matkasur, had already fought with him a few days ago and both were injured during the fight. Now, he had decided to follow the trail of the father and was seen the next morning close to where Matkasur was seen the previous day. As he advanced with all his confidence, he was seen marking on the same places where the father initially did. He sprayed and growled which out heard the jungle, as he proved his dominance. The same afternoon, he was seen rake marking on the tree and ended at the point, where he sniffed the scent of the father. He then sat on the same place and position like his father did on the previous day. What do we infer from this? Will Matkasur lose the territory to his own son? Will Shera be strong enough to defend the territory at this young age? The questions will be answered in the coming months. Image Credit: @jigneshpatel_jd and @sandesh.guru (Naturalist, Team BFSL) Keep following @the_bamboo_forest for more updates on the happenings of the Tadoba National park. #ConservationthroughConversations We at The Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge, have loved sharing this story with you, and shall bring you regularly as part of our Responsible Tourism Initiatives to raise awareness about the nature and culture of the environments we operate in. #tiger #indiantiger #territory #tigerconservation #india

Rufous treepie. The rufous treepie is a treepie, native to the Indian Subcontinent and adjoining parts of Southeast Asia. It is a member of the crow family, Corvidae. It is long tailed and has loud musical calls making it very conspicuous. #treepie #birdsbrilliance #ig_birds_of_instagram #birdphotography #birds_captures #wildlifephotography #wildlife_india #indianwildlife #natgeoindia #natgeowildlife #bbcearth #animalplanet #birdsofinstagram #birds #iamnikon #nikon #nikonindia #discover_india #nuts_about_birds #nikonphotography #nikonindiaofficial #natgeo #travelgram

A road once used as a highway, is now the trail of the tiger! If you have visited Tadoba, you can relate to what I am mentioning! Yes, the paved road that you see in the backdrop of the image was once upon a time a highway that connected Chandrapur and Chimur. Being one of the large tiger reserves of India, the tiger density in Tadoba has increased leading to be one of the best reserve to see wild tigers in the world. With a population of more than 80 adult tigers, the reserve has been successful in establishing its name in the world map. The decision of stopping private vehicles from inside the park has earned its prize. And the result is what you see in the above image!! A young sub adult tiger is sunkissed as it emerges into golden light of a winter evening. Beautiful information and post via @kwildlife_photography #ShizzysWildcatRescue ・・・ Incredible video of a young male stalking Sambar deer. Tiger was a decent distance from us watching deer and potential targets in all directions for several hours. He stunningly chose a path to stalk deer that brought him immediately past our Jeep. Tiger’s use stealth to stalk their target prey and then when close enough, a burst of speed over short distance to finish the kill. Their success rate is low because they are solitary hunters - only 10-15%. The hunt ends when a deer spots him and let’s out the distinctive alarm call. We did not have an opportunity to move and it is possible he was using the Jeep to some extent to shield him from the sight of the deer.
