So it's that time of the year again, with all the Xmas decorations, present hunting, Xmas meal planning, Xmas getaway preparation; next came new year, around the corner in January are birthday celebrations, not long after it will be CNY. Everything rushes in like lightspeed. And it's so overwhelming.
Actually it's the complexities of things that overwhelm us. But if we simplify from physical to mental, everything becomes manageable.
My intention this year is to minimise, and it has already started.
It's my wee one's last Xmas performance at his Montessori school, he's been selected as one of the protagonists - the shortest Xmas tree.
The school has given us detailed brief on what sort of outfit to buy. But in my mind, I was thinking: - how long is he going to wear it? Just this 15 mins during his performance?
- how much plastic will it create? As most Xmas outfits are mostly made with synthetic materials.
- instead of wasting resources on this outfit, how to better utilise what we already have at home that can be reused?
Et, voilà. This is the very outfit he wore at his performance last week.
It's made with my summer green dress, securing by so many safety pins that I couldn't even remember how many - the red tinsel and the Christmas tree 🌲 felt ornaments that we have been used year on year from the last 5/6 years. Plus different colour felt balls symbolising the Christmas lights. 💡💡💡 I would say it doesn't look too bad. With many people complimenting him as a cute little "Christmas Tree" on way to his performance that morning. He was super happy!😃😃😃😃😃 Let's all simplify our daily lives, treasure what we have and lighten our load of the complexities in life!
Merry Christmas and mindful Wednesday my friends!🕉️
