As a girl who dates girls, international coming out day and international day of the girl mean a lot to me. My brilliant, cutie girlfriend @ (pictured) wrote an incredible caption about womanhood and her vision for the world, and I couldn’t have written it better myself. So here’s hers:
“I want to live in a world where girls can be whatever the fuck they want to be. I want women of all ages, backgrounds, sexualities and races to take up as much space as they possibly can, and fight for exactly what they believe in. I want women in sports to be taken just as seriously as the men. I want women to be able to date who they want, be who they want, and say what they want. I want my industry to equal the playing field, and value women the same way they do men. And more than anything, I want days like this to not even be a big deal because it should be so obvious in our society that girls matter, and that coming out doesn’t change anything about you. But unfortunately we are not there yet, so until then, I’ll be taking up as much space as I possibly can, as a proud and out gay woman. Yes, constantly battling the patriarchy is exhausting, but I have enough coffee to go around, so let’s fucking fight ladies.”
She nailed it, am I right?!
