What is it?/Who’s it good for?/How do I do it?
📿I’m certainly not a season professional here, but I’ve been talking to a lot of people about this & have been getting a lot of questions so I’ll share what I know ☺️
🔮Practicing meditation or mindfulness involves quieting your mind, which is usually running nonstop. You can practice on your own, or follow a guided meditation (I prefer guided—my mind wanders MUCH less). There are a few good meditation apps, or you can find some meditations on YouTube—feel free to comment or message me if you need some recommendations! .
📿They can be very specific, or general if your main goal is just to quiet your mind and relax. Some include visualization exercises, breathing exercises, repetitive mantras, or all three. .
🔮I’ve been meditating daily for about a month & a half and it’s honestly one of the best things I could’ve done for myself. Some days it’s harder to get my brain to turn off than others, but those 3 seconds of quietness are still better than none at all! .
📿It really helps me not only to relax, but to set good positive intentions for the day, and even set goals for myself in the years to come. .
🔮You don’t have to be fancy & light candles and sit on the floor with your legs criss cross applesauce & a Buddha statue (although you can if you want). You just need to sit in a quiet, comfortable place where you can close your eyes & relax. .
📿And if you think you can’t do it, still try it! Anyone can do it. It’s like anything else, it will come with time & practice. It may be hard to turn your brain off at first, but I PROMISE it will get easier with time & it will SO be worth it. Try doing it every day for a week straight & see how you feel. Like I said before, every meditation might not be equally as “good”, but don’t think of it as “I can’t do it”. Just keep trying! No need to get discouraged. .
🔮If you need any meditation recommendations, feel free to ask me! Or if you have a good guided meditation you’d like to share, I love trying new ones!!🤗🙏🏼
