The ingredients are leftovers from some recipe testing & it couldn’t have worked out any better. Corn tortillas are topped with guacamole, shredded cabbage, diced ham, an egg, queso fresco, and cilantro 🙌.

When I was writing Within (to be released in a few month) it was important for me to make one message very clear. Establishing your values, knowing what works for your family, honoring your intuition, and loving your body as best as you know is self love and love of your family. Things can happen, our children will have struggles, so when we do this for ourselves and our family we are doing two important things: 1. Letting them see what self love looks like and giving them a value system with confidence to create their own 2. Removing guilt that if we did something different things would be different. Knowing we chose the best choices for ourselves and our family and just like you turned your struggle into strength so will they.

Celery juice healing time 💚🙌🏼 Like I’ve stated before as far as I know I do not have any thyroid issues but then again I haven’t been to the doctors in a long time and have symptoms that make me question if maybe I do. If it wasn’t for this book I wouldn’t have stumbled on to Anthony William’s at all and because of that I am on day 6 of integrating medical medium protocol into my life starting everyday with celery juice! Now I am not rich by any means and I’m on a budget so no I don’t have a juicer I do this all with a blender and milk bag or cheese cloth. Sometimes you get home from the gym starving and just want a super basic dinner. Today is one of those days 💁🏼‍♀️ . . Organic arugula, roasted leftover veggies (cauliflower, mushrooms, broccoli), cooked quinoa, a fried egg, and creamy avocado “dressing” 🥑 . . For the avocado dressing I mashed 1/2 avocado, 1/4 cup organic coconut milk yogurt, and lemon juice. It’s my FAV! 😍

I put “freeze the bananas” on my to-do list today. 🍌 Saving 3 for banana bread, and 22 going in the freezer. It feels like I’m admitting defeat?? • I like to pop my fruit salads in the freezer for about 30 mins, drizzle with pb & cinnamon. I think it tastes like ice cream, but you can’t say things like that to people or they stop trusting you. My grandma used to always bring fresh fruit over when I was little and claim it tastes “like candy” and I did not believe her for one second, although she seemed 100% convinced. 👵🏻 Maybe late-onset fruit delusions run in the family? Although Bruce seems to believe it and he’s adopted, hmm..

I got myself some new (used) wheels yesterday 😆😍 I’ve wanted a bike since i moved back to NYC but I didn’t really need one, because I wasn’t going out of my area very often. but now I have a membership for kickboxing classes that are an 18 minute bike ride away, so I finally had a reason to pick one up!! I bought it from an adorable little repair shop, the guy had literally just finished working on this one so it was meant to be 😊 I rode it home from the shop and got a feel for riding on the streets and now i cant wait to put some good miles on it 😄🚴🏼‍♀️

WHERE THE DONUTS AT? . True story - last week, I crushed about half a dozen Crispy Creme donuts in the space of 2 days. . Why? . Because they were in my kitchen. That’s why. I’m not superman. I don’t have iron will. Environment always trumps willpower and this is a classic example. . For years, as a health and fitness expert that millions of people looked up to, I felt guilt and shame if I did something like this. I would hide the truth and not openly share my “indulgences”. . Now, I say F*% # it. . In fact, if I were to ever write another diet book (which I won’t) it would be called the “F*% # It Diet”. Take it if you like. But seriously, our culture is riddled with guilt and shame when it comes to food. The deeper you get into health, the worse it gets. . Bake for around 20min at 180 degrees. Let it cool down. 2️⃣Bring the water to a boil and cook the berries for around 5min. Add the vegan gelatine and cool for 2 more minutes. Set aside. I love salads that give me tons of energy and are satisfying. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia when I was in my teens and suffer from mid afternoon low energy moments. This salad works for lunch, or a great mid afternoon “pick me up.” Loaded with minerals and plant based protein, bulgar protects from free radical damage. It is a great salad that keeps well, covered in the refrigerator, up to 3 days. The recipe serves 6 to 8 so you will have plenty of leftovers. 💕 Bulgar Wheat Veggie Salad 🥒🍅🥕 1 cup medium-grain bulgar wheat 1 bulb fennel, trimmed and diced 1/2 cup shredded carrots 1 small cucumber, seeded and diced 1 1/2 cups garbanzo beans, rinsed 1 small red onion, diced 1 tomato, seeded, diced 2 tablespoons drained capers 1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper 6 ounces feta cheese (optional) 1. Preheat oven 375 degrees 2. In a medium bowl, submerge the bulgur in 2 1/2 cups boiling water. Stir gently and then cover with plastic wrap or waxed paper and set aside for at least 30 minutes or until all the water has been completely absorbed. 3. Spread the fennel in a small roasting pan and roast until softened and lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. 4. In a mixing bowl, toss together the carrot, onion, cucumber, capers, feta cheese, tomatoes, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill. Add the vegetables to the cooked bulgar and toss well. Fold in the roasted fennel and garbanzo beans. Season with sea salt and pepper to taste. This stigma is further compounded for marginalized groups. . If we were to look back at the earliest age where we felt like our bodies weren’t “good enough”, for many people (and women especially), the reason centred around weight. . Weight is not the problem. There is no piece of research that proves weight is the problem (correlation is not causation). Therefore how much we eat is neither the problem (it may be disordered, but it’s not the cause). This is completely FALSE. 🙅🏻‍♀️ Of course you may consume these foods more frequently when you first start listening to your body. They are highly palatable and highly desirable... especially if they have been restricted previously. But over time, your eating will naturally become more balanced. Today is not my day. 🤪 I spilled the damn smoothie about 3 seconds after taking this pic, then tried to squeegee it back into the glass with the side of my hand. Of course more of it ended up on the floor and cabinets than in the glass, and I spent the next half hour de-purpling my kitchen. Fortunately, I’d poured James a serving before all of this, so I did get a little taste. The verdict: blueberry cobbler in smoothie form. 👌🏻 To make enough for two people, blend... 1c frozen cauli 1c frozen blueberries 1/4c @livingculturessuperfoods coconut yogurt 4 scoops @vitalproteins collagen peptides 8oz cashew milk Juice of 1 lemon 1 tsp honey This would also be really delicious as a smoothie bowl with granola on top. In fact, I think I’ll do that next time. Less risk of spillage. 🙃

Well, hello there 30 weeks. 🤰🏻I can’t believe I’m 10 weeks out from baby boy (if he comes on time). Life is FLYING by especially with moving thrown into the mix and trying to settle/nest in preparation for the new little family we are about to have. - I realize with moving I’ve had days I’ve barely eaten/forgotten to eat but overall my eating is really clean and I’ve been wanting carrots/beets/wheatgrass. Not sure why those things but I’ve been digging the super earthy flavors - sleep has been really deep overall because I’m so exhausted but waking up for at least an hour every night because of all of his movements. He really seems to love the 3:30am time slot 😳 -his movements are so strong now and very constant. I feel him all day long and at night he really likes to make himself known -nursery will still likely be the last thing accomplished as originally we weren’t planning on doing a nursery at all. Beginning to realize how fast 10 weeks is going to go when I have so much to get done. I wanted pancakes so I made pancakes. Duh. I’m still obsessed with @bosh.tv’s protein pancake recipe. It’s simple, quick, and they are super delicious and filling. I tipped them with the berry compote I made the other day, peanut butter, @earthbalance, and maple syrup. If I’m gonna eat pancakes I’m gonna do it right. I licked the plate. They were that good.

[what’s your dogmatic approach to nutrition?] This question would have yielded a different answer depending on the stage of my life it was asked. In high school, Gary Taubes released “Good Calories, Bad Calories” and Atkins was all the rage, so I was vehemently against carbohydrates. . I then ventured into a low calorie, high cardio lifestyle upon the recommendation of a bodybuilder in college, with intermittent fasting, vegetarianism, and a low-carb paleo diet as the subsequent approaches I pledged allegiance to. . They all worked for me initially (until they didn’t), so that meant they were universally applicable to all bodies as a long-term approach to a healthy lifestyle, right? 🙃 . As I resided in each camp, every other way of eating seemed ludicrous. . The appealing aspect of each of these dogmatic approaches to nutrition is their hardcore, black-and-white rules. . They eliminate the need to think for ourselves, to tune into our own bodies, or to practice any form of self-awareness. . We abide by the strict lists of foods, eating times, and portion sizes, and we’re then able to turn our brains off. . However, this is also the reason the wheels fall off the bus the minute we go “off plan." . Tuning into our bodies, practicing awareness, digging into the reasons why we’re reaching for food, playing the long game—these aren’t sexy. They require turning inward, a sufficient amount of trial and error, and time. . But wouldn’t it be great to only have to go through this process once, despite it requiring more time and effort upfront? . To never have to settle into another camp of dogma and extremity? . . . Sooooo funny story. As some of you know I’ve been sick with bronchitis for weeks now, and recently I’ve had pretty severe lung pain. I just got back from a chest X-ray and luckily it’s NOT pneumonia but it IS a broken rib😂 I literally broke my rib from coughing so much. The only “cure” is pain meds, cough suppressant, and REST which means little to no exercise for weeks- heavy breathing is just going to aggregate my broken rib more and delay the healing process. I am so beyond happy that I am in a place where I can (do my best) to follow this and just live my life while letting my body heal. This time last year this would have been the worst news I could have heard- I was beyond addicted to working out every single day, sometimes twice a day, and would not be able to function if something got between me and a workout. Days when I still struggle I just look back at how far I’ve come, how much progress I’ve made, and how many happy days I’ve gained and know it was all worth it! So if you’re struggling with exercise issues, know that you aren’t alone and you can make a conscious effort to seek help and change your ways now so when something like a broken rib comes along, your life doesn’t have to break with it🙌🏼 . . WHATS ON MY PLATE: @tumaroswraps flax fiber wrap with avocado chickpea mash, spinach, jicama (so crunchy!) and smoked salmon (sorry bank account!) with carrots and cucumbers to dip in @lantanafoods lentil hummus on the side. Threw this all in a Tupperware to take to the AIR CONDITIONED library to catch up on work and interview prep! Happy Monday!

Or in other words liberate yourself from the need to be perfect, good, validated. I am sharing here my topic of the week. I have a huge report to write, limited hours to do it, and after 3 burn-out I need to work differently with giving the appropriate amount of work not to do everything and more just because I am dead scared to not do enough. I have 15 years expertise so it’s pretty much time to stop working as if my life was at risk every single hours of every day 😉. So this week I prepared my plan, to work, and work good, but not beyond exhaustiveness or far far too high per the real expectations. It’s super challenging, I had to force myself to take breaks instead of staying in front of my computer for 12 hours... I had to shut down my head and ideas while I took some time to lunch... I feel the fear inside my stomach, I am totally motivated to follow my plan but still in doubt with my old mindset (you sucks, you don’t do enough and all) and so this sentence did catch my attention because it’s all so true! Trying to be right, knowing all, anticipating all the time, trying to be a good sister, a good daughter, a good friend, a good employee drove me into exhaustiveness. Deeeeeeeeeeeep one. And put my health at risk. So here is me sharing my wisdom with you ahahahahah. When you are driven by your fears of not being good enough or right, you just lose yourself in a race with no end. You put your life, your worth into others hands. And this is everything but being free. So liberate yourself. You can fail, you can take it slow, you can postpone, you can have bad days, you can miss an appointment, you can have no answer to this question, you can have no opinion about this news, you are under no obligation to be right. It's Monday 🤗 . Yesterday was father's day, which means celebrating! & here in the US it's impossible to have a a celebration without food🤷 LOL So who's feeling like crap today because they over did it on food this weekend??🙄 . Guess what? It's OKAY! You're not going to die! You're not a failure for indulging! It happened, now get over it🤓 Today is a new day, for better choices! . When I used to indulge on the weekends I'd vow to myself that on Monday I'd eat only 1200 calories, and that I'd be "good" for the rest of the week. I'd stick to my plan all week, and by the time Friday rolled around I'd be back to stuffing my face again. A never ending cycle. . It's this all or nothing thinking that got me stuck in that cycle. Having a "treat" on Friday doesn't mean you've ruined all the progress you made during the week, and you might as well throw in the towel for the rest of weekend. It's possible to have a "treat" and that's it. . It doesn't have to mean anything! It doesn't mean you ruined your diet (why are we dieting anyway?😉), it doesn't mean you're​ a failure, it means you ate a treat, big whoop! Part of being a human is indulging every now and then, and you should be able to do so without beating yourself up! . So please don't go into this week with a restrictive mindset, thinking you need to erase the damage you did this weekend. That thought process will keep you stuck in this cycle! Move into this week with love for yourself, and the choices you made. & Make new choices this week because they make you feel GOOD, not as a punishment for this weekend. . MATCHA OATS RECIPE -----> -1/3 C steel cut @coachsoats -1 C water -1 tsp matcha powder -1 ripe + mashed banana -2 T chia seeds -1 generous spoonful of Manuka honey (Combine all ingredients in a pot and heat on a stovetop at medium heat until it begins to bubble, reduce heat to low and stir occasionally until oats are cooked through. Top with all the yummy goodness your little heart desires ❤ I swirled in some coconut cream & topped with @beefreeglutenfree Clay's Chocolate Buzz granola, fresh blackberries & @nutiva hemp seeds! ✨

Keeping things simple on this sunny monday morning with a yummy little parfait - @enjoyyoso vegan unsweetened cultured coconut “yogurt”, blueberries, and @naturespathorganic peanut butter granola! //I’m sure everyone has heard of the supposedly “motivational” diet culture thing where you buy an outfit in a size too small to keep you motivated to lose weight and fit into it - yesterday, I did the exact opposite. I found an adorable romper at the mall and instantly fell in love with it, I don’t often obsess over clothes but I saw this romper and knew I had to have it! I took two sizes with me into the fitting room: the size I thought would fit me now (at my not-yet-weight-restored & unhealthy size), and the size that was closer to what I used to wear when I was at a healthy weight. I chose to buy the size that would fit my healthy body, not the body that I have now - to serve as motivation for me to get to a point where my body is at a healthy weight again and I can fit into this adorable outfit. Yep, those nagging anorexia-fuelled voices in the back of my mind are furious...but i’m extremely proud of myself. I’ve been struggling a lot for the past couple days and at this point in my recovery i’m really finding it helpful to look for more motivation and more reasons to recover wherever I possibly can, so i’m happy to have a brand new cute little romper hanging in my closet just waiting for me to wear the minute i’m healthy again!

These oats. So simple and healthy not also hitting the spot on the Monday morning. . Father’s Day weekend brought a few treats into my life and I fully enjoyed them without any guilt. I stayed accountable to my choices by tracking my meals & treats and with that I can get back into routine today with no guilt or shame over that scoop of ice cream 🍨 or glass of wine 🍷 🙌🏻 #foodfreedom . It’s the mindset and the lifestyle that we must balance and find what works for us. . By tracking your food you can clearly see where the choices you made lead you and fully understand what works for your body and what is too much. It’s a balance and tracking is a tool you can use to understand how to find that balance and live without restriction. . But back to these oats 🌾 . 1/4 cup dry organic rolled oats 1/4 tsp Cinnamon 1 Tbsp dried organic cranberries Almond milk to moisten 1 tbsp Natural peanut butter . Add dry ingredients together. Pour almond milk over to moisten and just cover the top of the oats. Scoop in peanut butter and twist on a lid. Refrigerate overnight and heat up for 1 minute in the micro to enjoy warm 💁🏼‍♀️

Insta vs reality 🥗 I was craving a salad and some veggies after my workout this morning, so I made it HUGE and hearty so it would be a good filling meal. I love adding quinoa, rice, potatoes, or pasta to my salads to make them more satiating and dense. Carbs are very important after a workout just like protein, allowing your body to recover and use them for depleted energy! 🌱🌱🌱 . Shame & guilt. If you were to describe how you would want eating your favorite foods to make you feel how likely do you think you would say shame or guilt? ♥️ You wouldn’t! But yet many women feel these emotions about their food choices & the foods they have consumed. Some might feel shameful buying groceries worried about what judgment might be inflicted upon her from the glances in her cart. Maybe you ate a pint of ice cream before bed because it sounded so yummy but now you feel so much guilt asking yourself why did I do that? That isn’t going to help me lose weight? ♥️ Feeling shame or guilt towards the food you are eating does more harm to your self esteem & physiological body responses than simply eating the ice cream. Who wants to feel bad when eating ice cream, pizza or whatever? Food is suppose to make us feel good, to feel happy & satisfied!? ♥️ Putting labels on food as “good” or “bad” & taking part in the diet culture rules of eating is not only making us worse off in the end but it’s stealing our life & our happiness! It’s keeping us on this path of chronic yo-yo dieting & causing more weight to be gained than they will ever lose. ♥️ The diet culture rules & the way it dictates how we live & eat steals away our lives. We are spending our days, our moments obsessing about every bite we put in our mouth, basing if we love or hate ourselves that day on how many calories we consumed & being fearful of going out to eat & life events that are suppose to be fun & enjoyable. We are spending time hating our bodies & trying to change them without asking why we are convinced we need to in the first place? Who decided that one body type was the only beautiful one?! ♥️ It’s amazing how blindly we engage in the diet culture & social norms without ever questioning them! I beg you to try & open your eyes to another way of life. Open your eyes to the idea that you are perfect as you are, no need to change! Open your eyes to the idea that food should bring pleasure not guilt! Together, let’s dig up your self love & empowerment that lies deep within. I promise no type of diet or amount of food or body shaming will help you achieve anything your looking for!

I need another day between Sunday and Monday. Whose with me? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Yesterday I was alerted by my @floliving app that I am now in my ovulation phase. I am working with a client now who is suffering from PCOS so I picked back up my Woman Code book to refresh my knowledge on cycle syncing & how that can heal many issues associated with hormonal imbalance. If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it. @vittialisa is a goddess 🤩She has an amazing story to share! It inspired me to get back on syncing my cycle. So, as of this week I am supporting my ovulation phase by focusing on eating fibrous foods (lots of fruits & veggies) as it aids in elimination of estrogen. During our ovulation phase we want to be sure our bodies are metabolizing and eliminating the surplus of estrogen. With this surplus it could lead to symptoms such as acne & bloating. This week is also my best time to communicate my opinions & thoughts more clearly. Sweets. Lets talk about them. 🍪🍰🍩🍭🍦 . How many times have you heard “X” isn’t allowed on a particular diet? Probably numerous times and I guarantee you donuts and ice cream would be on that list. But why do they fall on that list but a smoothie bowl topped with fruit, cocoa nibs, shredded coconut, fruit, granola and nut butter does not? Because our society has categorized donuts and ice cream as “bad” and a smoothie bowl as “good.” If you break it down to nutrients involved yes, the smoothie bowl will provide more micronutrients than the donut and ice cream but it may also be more calorie dense depending on toppings but most people don’t see it that way. If you are craving a donut or ice cream but settle for a smoothie because its considered more “healthy” or the better decision you are doing yourself a disservice. You are left still wanting that sweet dessert and your never truly satisfied. You may find yourself munching on other foods to help fill that void. The result: less satisfaction in your meals, maybe more calories eaten had you let yourself have the sweet dessert instead and a negative relationship with food. . I’m not trying to throw out calories as something to look at when comparing what to eat but just using it as an example in this comparison. Foods shouldn’t be categorized as “bad” or “good” based on calories or what nutrients they offer 🙅🏼‍♀️ In fact, they shouldn’t be categorized at all. All foods serve a purpose in our lives and it is far beyond the nutrition label. . Woke up craving alllll the proteins today! 😊 Yesterday was a very special day filled with sooo many yummy things - ribs, pie, cheese, deviled eggs, baked beans, & too many other good things to count. 🤩 I lovedddd treating myself to all the goods, but I’m craving healthy foods again, so I whipped this up ASAP. 😋 • Today I had a toasted slice of @daveskillerbread topped with 1/4 of an avocado 🥑, EBTB, two egg whites 🥚 with spinach 🌱 & turmeric, and a side of smoked lox. 😍 • Feeling absolutely exhausted, so I’m going to rest for a good while, and then head to the gym.
