M I T T S O M M E R
Got up at 4.00 am and took a walk for about 6 hours. I gathered the plants for the summer solstice flower bouquet. .
I do this every year, dry the bouquet and burn it (räuchern) on winter solstice.
Traditionally you gather 9 or 12 plants. As three is the number of the great mother.
I gathered more, all the abundance. Some you may find: nettle, yarrow, mugwort, campanula, St.johnswort, chamomile, mullein, bedstraw, birch, hazelnut, elder, hawthorne, plantain, scabiosa, roses, silverweed, meadowsweet ...
Just when I came back it started to rain. Finally rain! I could hear the plants sigh. Long longend rain. .
It is raining ever since. A friendly soft rain. Our midsummer fire is cancelled. I don't mind because the rain is so needed. We'll celebrate with fire on the weekend. .
Here is a gift for you on this summer solstice: dye kits and some yarns are 20% off in the Etsy shop! .
Blessed midsummer! .
