One special knife!
Raw blade forged and differentially heat treated in Yakutia, Siberia by my collaboration partner @ and handfinished by yours truly.
Traditional handle and hafting in stabilized buckeye burl.
Sheath with wooden liner, Italian veg tan leather, hand stitched and embossed with the Sakha 5 eye symbol for good fortune.
Sakha knives have more history and ingenuity, influence on other traditions and uses than I can write in a single caption. I call them a "boreal multitool". Their unorthodox shape and extreme forging process are legendary and combine capabilities of using the blade a hand plane, file knife, drill and scraper, just to name a few.
Made to be used with gloves and without handling metal in the coldest inhabited place in the world this knife has its trinity of blade, handle and sheath perfectly engineered and merged for its intended purpose... Nothing less I'd offer under my brand.
This is something unique and not only heirloom quality but also fierce practicality! -
