In the north west of Namibia lies one of Africa’s last remaining wildernesses. It’s an area where Himba Shepard’s take their cattle to graze on the open plains. Giraffes, antelope, ostriches and lions still roam as they have for centuries.
To describe the roads in the area as vehicle worthy is not something that many people do, the roads are actually graded on a local scale known as the Kaoko scale. Some “roads” & steep passes still remain unmapped. Only the locals know them and only those with well equipped cars fare to pass.
This is a true wilderness & the beauty of the area is second to none.
In open quiet areas such as this it is easy to imagine strange things to happen and things do. This is an area that functions as it has for centuries & hides many secrets of all those who have lived out their days in this far flung corner.
