So eventually got around to tasting the @ufitdrinks vegan protein ready to drinks. The coco-choc flavor is pretty tasty and makes a pretty fluffy vegan pancake. I mixed it with some oats and baking powder and poured the remaining over the pancake. With 15g of protein per bottle they are very handy for post workout. Results day... So hereโ€™s the deal.... I was bullied in fifth year of school.. but returned in lower sixth for no other reason than โ€œI was told I was always going to be one of those people who goes uniโ€ ๐Ÿ˜ My parents agreed to let me leave school if I got a job in a bank or the civil service.. After being accepted into both the civil service and 2 banks I left after lower sixth with 10 GCSEs and 4 AS levels. The day I left my books back into school the teacher said to me โ€˜doing this is the biggest mistake you will ever makeโ€™ ๐Ÿ™„ I joined the bank at 17 as back office staff. Meantime I worked in the background getting my mortgage adviser exams. At 18 I was qualified and became a mortgage adviser in the bank ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿ’ผ I got married at 20 and after my first baby at 21 took a career break from the bank and me & Tommy opened a kitchen business. ๐Ÿ™ˆ With me having no business or kitchen experience this was a steep learning curve. During this time I not only had some of my biggest achievements. But had my biggest failures and life lessons.๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ One of my proudest achievements was winning an All Ireland Design Award- despite never having any โ€˜formalโ€™ qualifications ๐Ÿ†. And my biggest failures were the extreme but have taught me my most important lessons in both business and relationships. ๐Ÿ’ฏ Five years ago after baby no. four I opened a Day Nursery with my mum. ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ I was told on my initial enquiries to social services โ€˜it will be too difficult for you to doโ€™. ๐Ÿ™„ Trust me it was extremely difficult to do!! But nothing is impossible if you work hard enough. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Since then Ive qualified in Level 5 childcare & management which means I can manage the nursery full time if needs be ๐Ÿ˜Ž In the last 3/4 years I have done various fitness & nutrition courses & seminars... ๐Ÿค“. Initially all for my own knowledge. But now Iโ€™m able to pass this on to people through everything I do in LMA๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ Over the last 6 months Tommy and myself have worked real hard and finally opened @thebarhealthandfitness Iโ€™m now 33 years old. On the way over to Tara I was constantly yawning and had just got 7 clients that day and have been on the laptop non stop since Saturday! - But I didnโ€™t let this get to me, and give out to myself for not doing what I had set out to do! Different factors along your journey will always effect how you feel and how you perform! In Lehmanโ€™s terms, the lats appears to produce greatest muscle activity during any vertical pulling exercises such as pull-downs/pull-ups as well as during horizontal pulling exercises such as various row variations. โž– Deadlifts: Though not an essential exercise for back growth, Beggs et al (2011) showed that both a double overhand (pronated) or mixed (one hand pronated, one hand supinated) grip using heavier loads (80%1RM) displayed significantly superior lat activity than lighter loads (60%1RM). Therefore, if you opt to include deadlifts into your training program, heavier loads seem to be superior for overall stimulation vs lighter ones. โž– Lat pulldowns: Studies have concluded a pronated grip (Lusk etย al 2009) brought to the front of the neck (not behind the neck) (Signorile etย al 2002) using a โ€œmiddle gripโ€ of ~1.5 biacromial distance (Andersen etย alย  2014) be the most optimal in recruiting the lats during a lat pulldown. The addition of a close grip pulldownย could also be an effective variation for increasing trap recruitment. โž– Pullups: Studies have shown both pullups and chin ups to elicit very similar amounts of lat recruitment when relative loads are equal (Doma et al 2013). However, though lat recruitment may be similar, bicep and pec recruitment have shown to be significantly more in chin-ups vs pullups which have greater trap and less bicep recruitment (Youdas etย al 2010). โž– Rows: Though itโ€™s still unclear whether horizontal or vertical pulling exercises display SUPERIOR lat activity, one study by Lehman etย alย (2005) reported that the seated row displayed significantly greater lat activity than the lat pull-down, especially when retracting the scapula therefore, a row variation is only of benefit in order to optimize your back training. โž– Practical implications: The lats can be maximised by using heavy loads and a mix of both horizontal and vertical pulling. Loved this workout and I'll tell you why, K2E! My arms are killing me, the palms of my delicate hands are sore but I did them! It wasn't to long ago I couldn't even support my own weight!!!!! With it being results time of year I thought it would be appropriate to share my little story. I always knew I wanted to pursue art as a career.. although I was told numerous times โ€œitโ€™s not a real jobโ€. I put down ONE choice on my CAO, it was Limerick School of Art & Design. Results day came and I was short 30 points for my portfolio part. I was devastated. I applied to do a portfolio course in Limerick Senior and got accepted. I wasnโ€™t even remotely happy about having to do an additional year but it was my only option. At the time I had it in my head I was gunna do graphic design because although my dream was to do animation, Dublin was the only place that offered it and my dream was LSAD. Anyway, completed my year in Limerick Senior and got wayyy more points than needed. The year I was accepted to LSAD they had JUST began an animation course, I couldnโ€™t believe it. If I had gotten in the year before I wouldnโ€™t have been able do animation. I struggled through college for the 4 years after that, my personal life was so difficult and I could never give more than 50% to my course and in the end my tutor just basically told me to give up if I couldnโ€™t give 100% cause what happened outside college didnโ€™t matter. As if it was that simple ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ I struggled on and got to my degree show, I ended up being listed for a visual arts award and I was beaming. Even if my tutor didnโ€™t want me to do well it was something out of his control and someone who didnโ€™t even know me thought my piece was worthy enough for a potential award. 2 years on after graduating Iโ€™m in my first year of business that is constantly becoming bigger and better and I just know the future is bright. Whether you are happy or disappointed about the results or your CAO, just know that it isnโ€™t the end of the world and the Leaving Cert is just one tiny minuscule element of a huge life youโ€™re going to live. Not everyone is suited to writing as much info as possible in two hours and showcasing their ability in those exams. โ€œEveryone is a genius. But if you were to judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it would live its life believing it is stupidโ€ ๐ŸŒŸ

BODYWEIGHT AND HOW TO TRACK IT ๐Ÿค” . I often ask people how their weight on the scales is looking, only to hear "the weight hasnt moved" or "its just the same" . If a calorie deficit is being maintained then this lack of change is normally because they are just looking at a short time frame of weigh ins, not weighing at the right times or just not recording their weight to look back on. . A healthy fat loss rate is around 1% of your bodyweight in pounds per week. So for someone who weighs around 140lbs an average weight loss of 1.4lbs a week would be brilliant. The change could be as little as 0.1lb on some days and although it can seem like your staying the same...its still a loss. . ๐Ÿ“‰Fat loss can be a slow process and it is certainly not linear as you can see from my daily weigh ins. . I'd be lying if i said the fluctuations didnt bother me. But i trust the process, i stay consistent and as you can see...i lose weight. . Weight can fluctuate up or down depending on a number of reasons such as the type of food youve eaten, the volume of the food you've eaten, how much youve drank, how youve slept, stress levels, water retention, menstrual cycle etc...the list goes on. In other words, its perfectly normal! . ๐Ÿ“…So how often and when should you weigh yourself? . Aim to weigh yourself every morning, in pounds, around the same time. Before you eat or drink, in the nuddy and after you've been to the toilet. . Write your weight down on a notepad left by your scales, in the notes on your phone or even in myfitnesspal or a weight tracking app. . When you have a weeks worth of weigh ins, add all the numbers together and divide by however many days it is. So if you weighed in every day in a week, divide by 7. If youve only managed 5 days out of the week, divide by 5. . This will then give you your weekly average. This is the closest you will get to an accurate weight. . Compare your weekly averages, not your daily weight and you will then see if you are making the correct progress. . If when comparing the averages the weight is still moving too slow or fast, then readjust your calories slightly or ask for help if you arent sure by how much. ๐Ÿค—

Iโ€™m going to be completely honest here... - I wanted to do this for a very long time but I kept putting it off - My head kept talking me out of it in every possible way because I had fear! - My first seminar put me in a state of fear. - Fear of talking in front of a large group of people, fear of failing! - But I did it. I faced it head on just like I was told by a mentor and it wasnโ€™t half as bad as my head tried to have me believe. @gettyl was a big help in this supporting the decision and pushing me to go ahead with it ๐Ÿ˜˜ - It just goes to show if we let it, fear will control us and push you around until you take action on it and face it. - Iโ€™ve had people before say Iโ€™m scared to commit incase my friends make fun of me, scared to come into the gym because they think everyone is looking at them, scared to look in the mirror...I could go on. - Once they do it, the fear is long gone and they feel amazing for achieving something that once scared them. - If fear is stopping you then realise itโ€™s all in your head donโ€™t let it control you and your decisions. Make sure you have the support behind you to help push you over the edge
