Sometimes when you think you have everything planned out, the universe has other plans. Woke up this morning ready to tackle my workout, on demand wasn’t working- totally fine I could do it at work when the kiddos were napping-no internet , totally fine I could do it tonight after the baby goes to bed- ended up with a crazy bad headache. Guess it’s not happening today and that’s ok. This is real life. It isn’t always perfect, in fact it’s rarely perfect. Sometimes we make plans and it doesn’t work out. That doesn’t mean I can’t wake up tomorrow with a positive attitude and try again. Listening to my body and the universe tonight and relaxing. Looking forward to a fresh start tomorrow ❤️

The key is @fourthandheart Garlic Ghee super hot in a pan then add caulirice (I use a frozen @traderjoes bag; all about an easy shortcut)...sautéed up real good. Then I add in the white bottoms of the scallions, two eggs, coconut aminos, @redboatfishsauce, and S & P to taste. Topped with the green part of the scallion, sesame seeds and sunflower shoots. I used to work on getting fit for certain events. I would workout like crazy but my body wouldn’t change. It wasn’t until I started 21 day Fix that I truly understood why! I could workout like a maniac but following it up with fast food and soda was just putting the calories right back on! My body was starving for nutrients! Learning about portion control, fueling my body with clean ingredients and the workouts have opened my eyes to a completely different possibility. It is the farthest thing from a diet! This truly is a lifestyle! It is easy to maintain and so much fun! I look forward to checking in with challengers each day to see where they are at and constantly working to challenge myself as well! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ • This weekend wraps up a 21 day challenge group on refocusing our mindset and getting back in to fitness. Who wants to join starting October 1 for another challenge! This one will be focused on eliminated bad foods from our life so that they can be reintroduced as TREATS. We will also be continuing to work on getting our bodies more and more active!! ⠀ ⠀ Take the leap to a healthy lifestyle and leave the diet lifestyle behind!!

Hahaha this made me laugh a lot.⠀ ⠀ And it's a true story! I used to run (badly). And by run I mean plod my way through 5 miles. I've never been a runner. I wish I was but my body (hello hips and boobage) just isn't built for it.⠀ ⠀ Short, intense workouts are more my thing, with lots of recovery and eating well in between. Remember that you don't need long cardio sessions to lose weight, and especially if you are a PCOS sufferer or undergoing fertility treatment this could actually be detrimental to your body by increasing inflammation and creating a stress response in the body. Take it down a notch, take up some resistance training and be consistent. ⠀ ⠀ Happy Fri-yay!

Attempting to fly into my weekend 😂 I have had a lot of people ask me recently why I workout so often, what is my motivation and how do I find the time. The truth is, life is CRAZY! Every single person I know has a crazy schedule, it’s not about finding time for me it’s about making the time. I struggle with anxiety and depression and for many years I was embarrassed to admit it which meant I wasn’t being proactive about dealing with it. It is not something to be embarrassed by! Over 40 million adults in the US are dealing with these issues but less than 40% are working to combat the effects. ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ For me working out isn’t about getting the perfect model body. It’s about fighting for a happier life. When I work out my depression and anxiety are lowered. I am able to relax easier and enjoy experiences more while also learning to be confident in my own skin! Working out helps me to fight my autoimmune issues. It pushes me to make conscious choices that are best for me now and in the future. .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Working out isn’t a chore or just an item to check off the to do list. It is an amazing opportunity to treat your body, challenge your body and say to the universe that you are prioritizing your life! There is not an end goal. It isn’t a sprint. This is a life long race and I am so excited to have finally started the journey ❤️

Thankful for @naturesfaremarkets and @spuddelivers for always having lots of prepped organic veg to make weeknight dinners possible when meal prep doesn’t happen. We had spaghetti tonight and the boys had gluten free noodles, but I am avoiding corn at the moment, so I diced up some zucchini and sauteed it in some olive oil. Then I topped with the meat and sauce, gave it a good stir and was good to go! I love to use zoddles, but I didn't feel like messing with them tonight. This was the perfect alternative. We only had enough chicken left from last night for two of us so I warmed it up for my husband and I and made @twrgrassfedbeef hot dogs for the boys but my 3 year old is still apparently anti-hot dogs so we switched proteins since luckily they’re still #whole30approved and I had zero complaints eating a hot dog for dinner 😆 Steamed up some broccoli and roasted sweet potatoes and calling it good enough for day 18! # #whole30dinner #septemberwhole30 #whole30day18

TRUE STORY: I upsold a 6-year old and his mom on my new favorite treat in the snack aisle at @wholefoods today. So let me tell you too — @baresnacks cinnamon banana chips dipped in @rxbar vanilla nut butter = NEXT LEVEL amazing. 🍌 I’m a longtime fan of @baresnacks because they make delicious organic baked fruit and veggie chips, but also because they’re SF-based and employ a few of my favorite people (hi @laurenshaffer & @luckyandi). Good taste and values are important to me. Of course I could be biased, but I hope y’all know I DO NOT eff around with food.

Accountability and clean eating. * I'm keeping it clean even though my #whole30 is blown. Staying the course because I love the way I feel. * I'm holding myself accountable and utilizing IG as a tool to help me. * That's not to say I won't have a treat once in a great while. If I choose to have one it will be planned into my day to ensure that everything else I eat will be in line with my goals. * Today was 100% squeaky clean. * What's on the plate? @jays_bakingmecrazy homemade paleo meatballs, sauce, spaghetti squash, and a green salad. * Tomorrow may not be squeaky clean.. Largely in part because I have a bag full of donuts (apple cider donuts from the local orchard) in my car to bring to my 💪 tribe💪 at the gym in the a.m. Hope someone remembers the coffee😁☕🍩

HALLELUJER 🙌🏼 My grandma sent me some good ol’ American sweet potatoes AND THEY MADE IT THROUGH CUSTOMS (although maybe we’re on a watchlist now?!). Sweet potato hash FOR DAYS for this girl! I cooked everything up yesterday & then just heat it up in a skillet when I’m ready to eat that portion. Sweet baby Jesus, I’m going to gorge myself on good AMERICAN sweet potatoes when I finally get to America! ...and blueberries ...and strawberries ...and spaghetti squash that doesn’t cost $30 ...and green apples ...and mango that isn’t $10 a piece! Life in Japan is nice enough, but the produce struggle IS REAL!

I'll share my husband's breakfast today cause mine was an un-photogenic but yummy smoothie (its in my stories💁) I just wasn't feeling the savory this morning and I wanted to bust out my new vitamix and give it a whirl anyways. We were sharing the space and he decides to add diced jalapeno to his sauteed veggies and make the kitchen no longer breathable, it was like someone sprayed pepper spray in the air!
