After God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, through the wilderness, through the battles and finally into Canaan—the land He promised them, they still ended up going back to worshipping false idols. Even though the wars were over and they conquered new land, they still ended up neglecting God. The lesson here is that at times, the problems of peace are greater than the problems of war.
After God parts your red seas, brings you through the wilderness, and fulfills all His promises to you—it will not take away the choice that you will have to make. Will you chase God even after He gives you what you want? Will you chase Him for who He is and not what He can give to you?
We are charged in Joshua 24 to choose who we will serve today. Choosing who we will serve is of utmost importance because it determines what we will reap. The only way we win is to choose God because He fights our battles and He goes before us.
Thank God, that Christ chose us before we chose Him. So, because of who God is, my mind is made up! I have decided to follow Jesus-my light and my salvation. —
