Ok so I'm not saying that you shouldn't praise on every platform you wish! Let's just get that out of the way - I'm also not implying that I know anything at all when it comes to religion.
No - I don't know the Bible off hand, I can't quote verses (I have never felt the need to anyway). No - I can't remember the last time I went to church (Some people get their strength in groups, I don't).
No - I am far from a good example (especially when you're working old testament - I swear, I have tattoos, I am pro choice, I'm pro LGBTQ - I am basically pro love dude - see what I'm getting at hinting at that old testament?)
BUT - I don't think that posting "holy" messages and verses will mean anything if that's not genuine. If you're constantly posting about being a child of God, yet you're constantly lying, manipulating, stealing and deceiving people - the amounts of likes you're getting won't mean shit. If you keep asking people to forgive you, but keep on doing the same thing over and over and then posting about God's forgiveness in an attempt to "shame" those unwilling to forgive for the millionth time, I don't think you're doing it right. That's the same way I believe that just going to church regularly, but behind closed doors you're abusing people, won't help you get into "heaven". I believe in forgiveness when the apology is real and true. I believe that you're relationship with God (or any God for that matter - yes, I also don't believe that you can be sent to Hell just cause you're praising the "wrong" name) should be genuine and real, just like it should be with those around you. I don't live my life as some sort of game where I get points for doing what a religion or a society believes is right - instead I start with love. Love teaches compasion and empathy, things you need in order to be kind to everyone around you. Love means respecting people and the world around you. And when you respect things and people, you don't try to harm them. Or hurt them. Or lie to them.
And when you fuck it all up, like we all do sometimes, you respect them enough to do your darndest to not do it again. Leave shit better than you found it.
