Keep it Simple, Sister. 😽
After my @crossfitkids cert, I told @justinvandyke and @performstoic I wanted to move well to teach well. As in life, sometimes we move forward too fast, before we are ready, and we skip important steps that are necessary to lay a solid and strong foundation to build upon. I had my foot on the gas way too hard early on in CrossFit, and as a result, I skipped past fundamentals that led me to plateau. The past 6 months, I have trained with an empty or VERY light barbell more often than not, I have put in hours of time under tempo, I have been in a hollow body and basic squat over and over and over again and again. It is not always fun, especially alone; it is not always sexy, “instagram-worthy,” or exciting. But guess what... I’m reaching my goals! Faster than I expected. All with guidance and support from the best coaching there is! I have grown so much as an athlete, a coach, I am fitter, and most importantly, I am MENTALLY fitter than I have ever been. On the “good” days and on the most frustrating training and eating days, I am learning about myself. I am learning about facing and letting go of fears, and I am growing through perseverance, discipline, and dedication. Thank you @performstoic for helping me be a better me every day! ✨
