No rain. No flowers. No mud. No lotus. As much as we would like a life with no trials or heartache or conflict, they are essential to our personal growth.
As a teacher, I know it’s ok for my students to struggle with a concept. It’s part of learning. It helps the brain to function and grow. But I don’t leave them to struggle all the time. They have success too. They wouldn’t know that success unless they had some of the struggle.
In life, we struggle. We struggle with finances, with relationships, with jobs, with being alone, etc. and that’s ok too. Life is not always one big struggle. It might seem that way in the moment but it doesn’t stick around forever. And although that moment might seem like eternity, it’s only a dot on our timeline. We are so much more than our struggles. We also have to want to move past them. There has to be a want to change and grow. Even though sometimes it feels easier to stay in that struggle than to move you, that it is harder to fight your way out, you can’t grow or change if you don’t have the will or want.
So rain is ok because you can’t grow or bloom without it.
