, one of the famous hill station in Maharashtra state. During the summer vacation it's one of the most visited place as the climate itself is so soothing. Out of all the places the one very serene and less crowded place which we visited in our sightseeing tour was Temple or Mahabaleshwar temple which is situated few meters away from the Panch Ganga Temple in Old Mahabaleshwar.
It is among the famous tourist places in Mahabaleshwar. Krishnai Temple is supposed to be the source of Krishna River. The temple was built in some 19th century by the ruler of Ratnagiri.
The temple has a shiva lingam and a beautiful statue of Krishna. A small stream of river flowing from a cow face falls in a water tank or kund. Stones carved columns and ceilings are the outstanding and remarkable features of this temple.
The temple provides the exotic view of the Krishna valley and the countryside. Behind the Panch ganga temple, there is a small and well marked trails that leads to the temple. It is not much visited by the tourist as it's isolated but it's provides the most beautiful view of the river.
The temple from inside is really very cold and it's also from one of the Protected Archeological Sites and Monuments.
