Back in business! It felt so good to see this number on the treadmill, like I did that! In a half hour! I did 3 sets of sprints, each for 2 minutes. Then the rest of the time I set my incline to 15 and walked at 4mph. This pic was taken while I was cooling down so my incline was only at 8. Then I proceeded with a full body workout. It was rough... Here’s the rest of the workout: 10x5 weighted squats 10x5 front dumbbell raise 10x5 upright barbell row 10x3 lat row 10x2 single lat row 15x2 glute lifts 15x2 weighted leg lifts 20x2 weight ball sit ups.

@bushido921 getting some back work in with our Trident bar. Our Trident bar is unique in its design for doing T bar rows. One of the biggest mistakes people make with the TBar Row is turning it into a full body row. People want to use too much weight and it becomes more of a full body hump movement rather than a row for the lats. Another great way to work the lats is to use smaller plates. @bushido921 is using 25 lb. plates so he gets a longer range of motion and better stretch in the lats.

After a nice hot day at the range shooting, I still made time to get my ass in the #gym and slay a #backworkout . I'm on a mission for myself I want to step on stage and be happy that I put forth an effort to #transform my body and push its limits. My brother @miguelseijomcmahon lit a fire under me when he returned to the stage last year, and this year he's bringing it again kicking ass, I've learned so much from him! Our families don't quit, we always keep going when we get knocked down we get right back up! So never count us out. My pare @init1al_j slayed his first show back winning 7 trophies and has been coaching me thru my posing and training. @khoibeast brought it this year and is going to be a future threat in the middleweight and my cousin @king_navarro is gaining like a beast and is going to make a huge impact. And my boys @ifbbpro_jonfrasier @jpsecrets_ifbb and @michaellynn_ifbb_pro are bringing some sick physiques to the stage this year so better watch out! Yes off-season if you wanna grow you have to push yourself past your #limits and move some #monster #weights. But at what cost? . With that being said at what point do you draw the line and sacrifice form to get the big weight up? . I guess at my age and experience with alot of off-seasons throughout the years I react better to weight in the 8-10 range and concentrate more on tight form with slow controlled movement throughout the entire rep with a tight squeeze at the end. The 6 rep days are over for me. LOL . . All back today. Moderate vs. Heavy Training for Size A study published last year in The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research by muscle hypertrophy researcher Brad Schoenfeld and his colleagues investigated muscle-growth gains using a bodybuilding-type training program against one that was based on a powerlifting routine.1 The eight-week study wasn't performed on malnourished, untrained college kids, but rather on 17 well-trained weight-room veterans. Volume was equated with the traditional hypertrophy group performing 3 sets of 10 reps with a 90-second rest interval, while the powerlifting group did 7 sets of 3 reps with a 3-minute rest interval between sets. Here's what the researchers found: Powerlifting-type training proved superior for enhancing maximal strength. Both groups made similar gains in muscular size.

My friend joined his first gym the other day and he doesn’t really know many exercises to do. He said he watches my videos but I realise that when you first join you probably won’t be doing muscle ups and spinning roundhouse kicks. So I said I would put up some basic stuff I do to get him started. • • • When I lift weights I split it into 3 days (push day, pull day and leg day) Push is Chest, Triceps and Shoulders (because most of them are pushing obviously) Pull is biceps & back (usually work abs this day too) and then Legs I split into: squats & deadlifts, single leg exercises and calves (if you’ve still energy left, jumps as well) • • • This video is pull day.
