So last nights leg workout was literally an absolute killer.. walking up the road to the shop afterwards was HARD work. 😂 . . ▪️Paused barbell squats (5x8) ▪️ Bulgarian split squats with band and weight- dropset so 10 reps with weight straight into 10 reps with just the band before swapping legs (4 sets) ▪️ Banded DB deadlifts with penguin feet to target glutes and hamstrings (4x10) ▪️ Cable squats (4x10) . . Have some fun and play around with banded work every now and then, trust me your legs will feel fire.

Ich habe mich nun dazu entschieden, zum zweiten Mal in diesem Jahr ein 3-Monats-Po-Intensivtraining einzulegen (inspired by @lucydavis_fit) 😅 Das heißt ich werde im ersten Monat wieder 2 mal pro Woche Beine trainieren, im zweiten Monat 3 mal pro Woche und im dritten Monat 4 mal pro Woche 💥💥 Das erste Training war gestern schon ☝🏻Ich habe sogar Lust drauf, weil ich motiviert bin weiterhin an meiner Schwachstelle zu arbeiten 💪🏼 Das Trainingspensum bleibt zunächst bei 4 Trainings pro Woche. Das heißt das Oberkörpertraining wird nun nur noch auf zwei Tage gesplittet. 👉🏼 Am ersten Schultern/Nacken/Rücken/Bizeps & am zweiten Brust/Trizeps/Bauch. The one and only time I went to the gym while I was out of town for a week...at first I beat myself up about it and convinced myself that I was going to loose all of my progress and strength 🙄 (stfu negative Hannah) . But Sometimes living life and making memories is more important than making it to the gym, AND THATS OK! Even if you miss your workout, fuming over it and thinking about how you messed up isn’t going to resolve the issue - what happened happened and all you can do is try to be better going forward! Remember: the comeback is always greater than the set back. Messing up and failing sometimes is inevitable - what truly matters is what you learned from the experience 😊 . Here are the results of my own 30-day shred in time for my holiday to Italy 🇮🇹 . As you may have seen, Steph and I decided to test out lots of different dieting methods on ourselves to get our weight and body fat down in a month, in time for a wedding we were attending in Italy 👰 . It was a great opportunity to use ourselves as guinea pigs, and try certain methods to help shift as much body fat as possible 🔥 . I stated at the start that: . 1⃣ I wasn't going to track weight. The number on a scale doesn't mean anything to me. It never has, it never will. I go off what I see in the mirror and how I feel in myself. . 2⃣ I stopped tracking my food every day a good few years ago. My intuitive eating skills are pretty bob on so I decided I wasn't going to track food for this either. I did track a day or two, just to confirm my intuitive eating skills were right and I was within the range I'd set myself. . 3⃣ I was going to stick to my normal training regime of 4-5 days training upper body/legs/off/push day/pull day. I added 20 minutes of cardio on top at least two days a week. Some weeks when I had more time, four sessions incorporated additional cardio. . 4⃣ I was going to track how my body responded, my moods and my mindset throughout. . Unlike Steph, I have no measurements or body weight before and after, but as you can see using the power of your eyes, I definitely got lean! 💪 . 🎥 We have filmed a full vlog about our journey, outlining all the methods we adopted - Vlog Live this Friday. . Glutes & Hams today 😝 Main focus being on hamstrings. No one ever asks what made you GAIN weight. . I never thought I’d be brave enough to share this part of my life. . Though this is painful to share, I know we are stronger when we talk about our struggles-and I hope you will share yours with me below. ( #metoo) . When I was 21 I was slipped a date-rape drug. The remaining details are not significant to my story, but something was taken from me that night that I’ll never get back. . The final words I was left with were “I only gave you what you deserved”...which were words that pierced my heart and mind for many years to come. . What I...deserved??? . I immediately turned to food for comfort. Honestly, the more weight I gained-the safer I felt. I felt like if I was overweight, no one would find me attractive and I wouldn’t ever get hurt again. . But the weight that I carried pierced much deeper. . Instead of dealing with it, I tucked it away in my mind and hoped I would never have to face it. I started eating my feelings instead... . The sad reality is: 1 in 6 women will be a victim of sexual assault/rape. And it’s something we don’t talk about. At least I didn’t for many years. It was a secret I hid from the world because I felt so ashamed. . NOBODY is deserving of that. NOBODY. And it took me many years to fully believe that. . I didn’t take care of myself anymore... I didn’t love myself anymore... Food was the only comfort that I had... The thought of taking it away made me UNcomforable. . But I took my life BACK...and so can you. . I share this with you, because I know I’m not alone. Many of us had an event that triggered us to gain weight. But the beautiful thing is: you have the power within you to overcome it. . We are not defined by our past. We are not what had happened to us. We have the power to design a bright future and never look back. We have nothing to be ashamed of. . NOT MEETING MY GOALS:( •••••• So I’ve meant to have been cutting for the last 4 weeks now with the aim to loose fat by increasing my cardio/HIIT workouts and keeping my diet clean. In summary i haven’t managed to do most of these (especially diet based) and so haven’t seen the progress I wanted:( I totally underestimated what working 40hrs a week is actually like and I’ve decided I don’t want to grow up and get a proper job because it’s horrible hahah (not joking🙃) I thrive when I get into a strict routine with food and fitness but my shifts are different days and hours EVERY week so that hasn’t been an option:( I am super disappointed because I wanted fitness to be my focus this summer BUT you know what, the only consequence is that I’m not going to look as lean as I wanted for my holiday WHICH IS OKAY (altho I’m gutted). Eating healthy and working out all the time is HARD so don’t beat yourself up too much if you’re struggling to stick to your plan - life gets in the way but you’ll learn from what went wrong and when the times right you’ll KILL IT🔥🔥🔥 Just make the most of your circumstances and don’t be too hard on yourself (I know I am and it’ll just get you down)! If it was easy we’d all have our dream body’s so DONT GIVE UP✔️✔️

The goblet squat. Very under-utilised by personal trainers. Too often I see trainers in a hurry to put their clients onto the Barbell back squat, which is a little more complicated . . As a result they end up squatting with poor form. The goblet squat is probably the best option to take with a beginner as with the weight loaded in your hands rather than on your back, you do not need to worry about getting a spot, and more so focus on just correcting technique . . This doesn’t mean it is just for beginners.
