Nutrition is super important to any healthy lifestyle, and it can be hard to not be afraid of calories. Your body needs fuel to be an athlete and perform, so don’t hinder it! I had this salad almost 5 hours ago and I’m still feeling good and not hungry, and usually salads do nothing for me. THIS is the kind of fuel you need to train, not just a tiny number of calories (speaking from experience lol it took me forever to stop worrying about a number on a scale and just eating for what my body needed). The way your body processes foods is variable, especially with fats and carbs. HOWEVER: DO NOT cut anything out EVER though because you literally need carbs and fats to live🤷🏻♀️ Just go for healthy sources. You spend more energy digesting less processed foods (essentially processed food is already a bit digested for you so your body can break it right down). The longer time to digest increases the thermic effect of food (energy spent digesting) and helps minimize blood sugar spikes, which means your body stays full longer, doesn’t crash, and metabolizes its fuel optimally. As for fats, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated are the way to go, because they contain fatty acids your body loves. Saturated is somewhat unavoidable in diets with dairy and meats, but they aren’t the end of the world. Trans fats are bad though haha those suckers go straight to your arteries😅 ❗️Don’t do trans fats, kids❗️
Anyways, I’m in the process of experimenting with how many calories I need and my best macro breakdown, so we’ll see where it takes me!
