desecrate me ride through my sanctum see the scattered debris of that what once was my asylum Make yourself an attandee to this party in the chasm Then ride me until your very last spasm That beautiful agony That intense orgasm Would you then do me? Pluck my flower with enthusiasm Will you set me free Free from everything fearsome Free I will promise you, tomorrow we will do threesome #lesbianpoetry #poetsoninsta #bleedingsoulpoetry #poem #lgbtpoetry #lesbiansofinsta #lgbt #love #girlswholikegirls #writersofig #lesbian #lesbianpoem #lesbianpoet #lesbisch #lesbienne

Writing requires you to slough off the universe spinning rapidly out of control within. You rigorously scribble, and it's incoherent, and sometimes, many times, you are rapid firing grief. There is no order to it. No sense in the way it shows up on the page. . But somehow, it is medicine. It is potent. It is bitter to taste. It is the thing that will make you well. Again.

Such a surreal and incredible moment for me happened yesterday when I received this email. I’ve been on a mission to follow my heart and go for my dreams. Over the past 6-9 months I have been fully committed to this path. For me this has been taking my writing seriously and submitting my poetry to be published, as well as, my artistic pursuits. This will be the first time having one of my poems published as an adult. I have written hundreds of poems and shared them with nearly no one, but have wanted to be a poet for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the way I gave that dream up, just quit. Thankfully it was reawakened in me. I’m so grateful for this moment, really letting it sink in. I will share when the poem is published but in the mean time go check out the other amazing work on @collectiveunrest and the new chapbook by @collectiveunrest editor @marisa_crane! I’m dying to read it! I could not have done any of the things I’ve done or been able to follow my heart without the love of my beautiful and supportive wife Alissa. @birch_and_crema thank you. Words aren’t enough to tell you how grateful I am for you. 🙏🏽💫 #theurbanhippie #poet #poetry #publishedpoet #grateful #followyourdreams #lesbianpoet #queerpoet #resist #collectiveunrest

VINTAGE SUNDAY! Elsa Gidlow was an unapologetic Lesbian poet in the 1920’s and beyond. Today's #poem is called "Balam," which is also the Mayan word for "Jaguar." Like a lot of my brothers and sister in La Raza, I have encountered racism throughout my life. And today, seeing children locked in cages, families torn apart, and my people subjected to the worst kind of racist ignorance and hate, I wanted to write something that reminds us we are not helpless victims. We are the children of the Jaguar, and we are no one's prey. #POETRY #Poems #LaRaza #LatinaPoet #LatinaPoetry #Poemas #poeme #poema #PoetsOfInstagram #PoetsofIG #WritersOfIG #WritersofInstagram #WritingLife #Justice #Justicia #Balam #Ocelotl #LesbianPoet #LGBT #BrownPride #AmWriting #Verse #Versagram

#agayaday For those who have listened to the podcast I did a few days ago with @zinovievletter you’ll know something of the influence that the Black Panthers had on gay liberation. With this in mind,it seemed timely to acknowledge one of their out, lesbian-feminist members, the poet and activist Pat Parker (1944-1989). Born into a working class African American family in Houston, Texas, like many of her background and generation, Parker didn’t come out until relatively late in life. By the time she identified as a lesbian she had already been married twice. Parker would later allege that her first husband had been violently abusive, and she would later draw upon this experience in her poetry. Her coming out in the late-60s was also a coming into political consciousness. She worked in a feminist health centre and began to publish poetry while engaging in grassroots activism with both the Panthers and various women’s groups. After touring a group lecture and poetry performance called The Varied Voices of Black Women, she decided to found the Black Women’s Revolutionary Council in 1980. Alongside this she remained an important political poet, perhaps best known for her piece Womenslaughter about female oppression but most specifically dealing with the death of her older sister, who was shot by her husband in an act of domestic violence. Parker was a close friend of Audre Lorde and they shared a rich intellectual correspondence on the revolutionary potential of language. Sadly, the two would both succumb too young to breast cancer; Lorde passed away at 58 and Parker at just 45. For many, though, the two remain alive through words that they believed constituted a form of political action. #agayaday #lgbtqculture #poetry #africanamerican #africanamericanculture #lesbian #lesbianpoet #feminism #patparker

I can't seem to focus Lotus flower Hopeless hours Soapless showers… Just need to feel the water Maybe call your mother… Just to say I need to feel your daughter Still these offers… Feel me… Author? You write my pain and sign your name I hold a candle in the rain and it still won't out your flame… Your game Never make it through the first level You managed to be my first angel and first devil I first revelled when our eyes met Long before the heartache and the lies met Heartbreak and the cries met… The lover you despised… Yet I'm the lover hypnotized… Left Right in the middle of your paragraph You wrote me off… I had to laugh I have to ask… what have you done to me I can't walk away because your love runs to me Come to me… Come for me Run for me… away and take my heart If you can't stay at least you can't break my heart But take your light because I don't want to escape my dark… What was I saying????
