🏋️‍♀️TRAINER TIP TUESDAY! 🏋️‍♀️ ------------- Hips wiggling around during squats and deadlifts?😕 This is called a Lateral Hip Shift, and it can be caused by a number of different things; I find that the most common are either lack of motor control around the core, or simply weak muscles around the hip. 🚫 In the first video I'm exaggerating what a hip hift may look like; in the second video is a drill you can perform with a band and a PVC pipe here at the gym! ✔️👍 This drill helps fire your obliques on the opposite side that your hip is shifting to, helping correct the problem! ✔️ Give it a try, it's also a killer warm-up for your lifts and a bomb oblique exercise itself alone! 😎🏋️‍♀️ Need exercise advice?! YEAR TRANSFORMATION ⏳💪🏻 Exactly a year ago I was 120Lbs with just 5% fat on my body and literally almost nothing of muscle. Now I’m 133.2Lbs; which 117.1Lbs are Lean body Mass and the rest 12% is fat. Legs are the greatest muscle and I intend to always keep having progression on them as well with everything else. Gotta keep working hard. Next goal is getting to 120Lbs of lean body mass. January -> Now. Not really sure what my goals are, but I would say I have made some progress! So many have reached out to me with such sweet DMs or comments asking how I had such a transformation over the summer, and honestly I didn't really even notice it much until I started to put comparison photos together from earlier this year😱 All I can say is a lot of HARD work and dedication in the gym, doing a slow "bulk" with macro counting to help me put on some muscle FIRST, and then intuitive/ mindful eating this summer to help me lean out! I am not one to do well with counting calories or macros that are restricted, but just listening to my body's hunger + fullness levels and food preferences, while still having the knowledge of macros in the back of my mind and knowing what makes ME feel best, has really done wonders for me this summer✨ That's why it's so important to switch things up sometimes, either with your training, diet, or both! If you get burnt out of one thing (for me I needed a break from tracking everything and forcing food, especially because I was to where I initially wanted to be when I started the bulk and was just maintaining at that point) don't be afraid to take a break for a while and do something else! You can always go back to it in the future, but you just might find something that works better! Not saying I'll never track again, because I'll probably bulk again later this year just to see how much further I can come next summer😎😎😎 but in the meantime I am loving where I am at and everything I am doing to have gotten here🤗 #transformationtuesday #fitwithflavv
