It’s been uncharacteristically dry in the PNW this winter and I can’t say I’m mad about it. I know climate change is bad, but in the small picture perspective I’m diggin the ability to hike without a raincoat 🤷🏻‍♀️ also, can we take a moment to appreciate that winter sun shining through the mossy trees? Oregon, you’re like really pretty.

I didn’t ever plan to post this picture. I looked at the way my stomach rolled over and was like NOPE. But that was 2018 Haley. This version of me though is changing that self-deprecating mindset. Owning and loving every part of me in all stages. When I’m fit or not. When I’m rocking my smallest pair of shorts or not. When I’m bikini ready or not. Because it’s okay to be a work in progress and to be in the process of becoming the best version of you.

It could have been anywhere. As we climbed up into the dense fog, it became clear that we weren't where we though we were, yet we knew exactly where we were. . . . #werutah #traveldeeper #adventure #neverstopexploring #keepitwild #optoutside #wanderlust #utahgram #utahunique #exploremore #liveyouradventure #winterwonderland #instago #utahphotographer #xputah #igutah #travelstoke #utahphotography #exploretocreate #wowutah #exploremore #letsgosomewhere #utahlife

I adore the way that human figures give scale to this grand, glorious landscape around us. Small figures in a big world remind me how small a part of this world we are, and yet our impacts on it can still have huge impacts

And then it's all clear. And then it's all right. I'll let myself go. And swim in the ice. And then I'll be free. Exposed in the light. I can feel myself go. Headfirst through the ice.

In 1989 my good friend Silvio Gallo led the first kayak descent of Chile’s Rio Claro right to the lip of this waterfall called 🐌. At that time, they desperately climbed out of this gorge that appeared improbable. Incredibly 3 decades later Silvio is able to return to this magical El Caracol to paddle down and beyond memory lane. Felicitaciones amigo! #foreveryoung #liveyouradventure @jackson.kayak

A close up of the ice on Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park. It was crystal clear but had all these fascinating bubbles. Last month we explored parts of Vancouver Island in search of old growth trees and found some beautiful giants in the soggy rain. Sadly these trees are still being logged at an alarming rate even though they are essential to functional ecosystems. Check out the work done by the @ancientforestalliance to help protect these forests if you’re keen. @eddiebauer #liveyouradventure #ebcontributor

Nice solitary birthday turns in the alpine today. It was great to get all the letters since Saturday given the ⛰ ❄conditions. All human powered, 7.5k vertical feet. And I am really starting to get a hang of BD Helio 88s as my powder skis. But clearly I need more ski partners ⛷☺ #liveskirepeat #couloirhunting #skitouring #backcountryskiing #earnyourturns #speedup #powdertothepeople #powderweek #thisisskiing #helio88

Last week I shared the vertical 5 × 7 version of this photograph-this is a 8 × 10, taken a few minutes after the previous post. Both images are similar in many ways, but there is one main difference. This image was taken landscape orientation, meaning that the image is wider. You can see things on each side of the built up ice formations that are not visible in the portrait orientation of the last post. . . This post is wider and you can see more of the image, the other is closer up focusing more on the detail. Which do you like most? . . . @tamronusa 24-70 G2 @mefototripods #nikonusa #madewithmefoto #tgrlivethedream #werutah #utahgram #utahphotography #utahphotographer #youtah #utah #visitutah #westbysouthwest #optoutside #liveyouradventure #adventuresfirststop #capture4cubes #BPmag #kuhl #getoutstayout #GOATworthy #fueledbyPROBAR #justgoshoot #KSLTV #KUTV2News #theworldshotz #adventure #outdoors #outdoorphotography #thegreatoutdoors #utahoutdoors #djevansphotography

“There is nothing quite like the creative process—the taking of an idea you’ve carried around in your heart and imagination and laboring over it until you’ve brought it to bear. One moment you feel enraptured by the process, the next, tortured by it. Those who create can journey to places of exhilarating, exhausting, painfully stretching, and deeply vulnerable, the highest emotional heights and the lowest emotional lows and everywhere in between. But few things can compare to the deep sense of satisfaction that washes over our souls when we behold our final, completed work. Creativity is certainly not for the faint of heart, but create we must. To refuse is to deny our nature.” // @jeremymriddle // “The Choice To Create” Cultivate Vol. 4

I used to hike Angels rest pretty frequently before it closed a couple years back due to a forest fire. A convenient spot 25min from my place. It finally reopened recently, this was a very cold & gusty hike to the top, well worth the trek to see nature healing/rebuilding itself. Inspiring to say the least. 🌲✨ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #noedits#nofilter #wildwomenmovement#wanderer#wildernessquest#livefree#liveauthentic#liveyouradventure#pnw#pdx#pnwlife#pnwonderland#upperleftusa#pacificnorthwest#reflection#freeyourmind#explore#exploreoregon#exploretocreate#leavemewild#letsgetlost#adventureisoutthere#candid#outdoorwomen#strongwomen#exploreoregon#visualsoflife#pacificnorthwonderland#epic#inspiration#beautifuldestinations

Walking on frozen lakes at Emerald

1

“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more.” -Pico Iyer
