I still remember: I was in my undergrad & had finished reading this book at 3 in the morning. I put the book down, closed my eyes, and decided to leave.
Where for? I didn’t know. Just had to leave the confines of a home-ly world.
I had almost packed my bag by the time my (unfortunately) sane friends convinced me to stay for then. I was promised that “we’ll do it together”. That never happened, of course. But this book provoked the wild child in me like few things have ever done. Till date, the songs from the motion picture stir up a quiet rebellion in me.
Remembering Christopher Johnson McCandless today; the young kid who dared to see life raw and up close. Thank you.
