The mind is a powerful thing. I’m sure you or someone you know has fought an internal battle brought on by depression, anxiety or other mental health issues at some point. Maybe you are fighting that battle right now. I myself have experienced severe depression on and off in my life and actually spent the better part of the last year battling it. Dealing with these issues can feel incredibly lonely and even debilitating.
I won’t pretend to be an expert on the subject. There are many methods of coping or getting help, and it may be that each person needs a different combination of things in order to heal. I’ve found talking to a therapist, regular exercise and medication to be helpful for me.
When I know someone else is going through a rough time mentally, I tend towards wanting to problem solve, to help “fix it”. But I think sometimes it’s helpful to just let that person know I am listening, and that they are not alone.
It’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling. You are not alone. 💙
