“Gondoreos: Middle-earth’s Favourite Cookie”
- - -
I haven’t posted about one of the most important days this year yet, so for , here are a few pics from @’s picnic. I was excited for this day the moment I heard it was happening, but in the week or so leading up to it, I found myself in a not-so-great headspace, and it reached the point where I was super reluctant to go because I didn’t want to cast any of that on what was supposed to be a joyous celebration. But I pushed through and showed up in my , and I’m really, really glad I did.
I try not to throw the word “perfect” around too much, but there’s no better way to describe that day. The weather was gorgeous, our surroundings a lush green, and our bonfire warm and bright. We had costumes, a feast, songs and dancing, games, laughter, and friends! So many friends! It was the most wonderful gathering of 's free peoples, and even though I wasn’t as energetic or social as I would have liked, it was without a doubt one of the happiest days I’ve had all year.
Looking back now, I can’t help but smile. To me, it was more than just a party involving my favourite fandom. It was the sun breaking through clouds, banners of hope raised high, and a day full of the good worth fighting for. I can't possibly tag you all, but my thanks goes out to everyone who was there for being a part of a day I so very much needed, to the CosParty team for putting it all together, and special thanks in particular to a certain shieldmaiden and hobbit, @ and @, for being the swiftest to see and answer my lit beacon. Just knowing that I have allies like you in the fight against the darkness means more to me than you know. Thank you all.
I look forward to celebrating the birthday of & , and all good things Middle-earth with everyone again next year! 💚
