This is a really nice way to come across a bear when out hiking in bear country. It’s all about distance really….. close enough but not toooooo close. They are in their beautiful natural world, the forest and river setting is gorgeous, the bear knows we’re there, we know the bear’s there, no one is worried, everyone’s happy = bear viewing bliss!✨✨✨
We took this photo on a hike in Tweedsmuir Park, along the Atnarko River in British Colombia, Canada. The scenery was lovely; it was hilly with mountains nearby, there was a pretty mix of evergreen and deciduous trees, the river’s water was clear and full with salmon. It all set the scene for more of a rambling, relaxing, exploratory walk than a hike that day. We saw this medium size, good looking bear across the other side of the river. He/she seemed to be either looking for fish in the river or considering whether or not to cross. In any case, after a while meandering around, poking around, looking around, the bear slowly turned back and walked off into the forest. And we did the same. WASAL .
