I really believe in that old saying ~ Laughter is the best medicine ~ I can’t imagine getting through a day without laughter! I really do cherish those friends and loved ones who I have a connection with, we don’t need to be speaking about anything, in particular, but, all of a sudden, we find ourselves collapsing in heaps of giggles... it has such a powerful effect on our body and mind that, for hours afterwards, we can feel uplifted and have that lovely warm feeling of wellbeing and that’s because laughter really does cause physiological effects within the body......... ✅Laughter relaxes the body relieving physical tension and stress.
✅Laughter boosts the immune system by decreasing stress hormones and, in turn, increasing infection-fighting antibodies.
✅Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemical which promote that overall feeling of wellbeing and can even temporarily relieve pain.
✅Laughter burns calories!
✅Laughter may protect the heart by improving the function of blood vessels and increasing blood flow.
✅Laughter improves the mood and strengthens resilience. Notice how your problems never seem quite as overwhelming after you’ve shared a good chat and a giggle with a friend!
Plus, it just makes for a happier, lighter atmosphere..... Life really is too short to be serious all the time!
