Smashed avo with feta and tomato on cornbread. Such a great alternative to regular bread, I had no idea! Gave it a slight Mexican vibe. I’m ok with a bit of avocado but try not to have it too frequently as the build up does have an effect especially mixed with other non fodmap things!

My new favourite way to eat gluten free weetbix! Crush the weetbix, cover with 2 cups almond milk and a teaspoon of cacao powder. Sprinkle over 10 grams chopped walnuts and 40 grams blueberries. Bake in oven at 180 C until warm, gooey and slightly set. Then serve with coconut yogurt. Very yummy low fodmap, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, low fructose! Cauliflower pizza is yet another revolutionary find. An ode to the one who discovered it first🙏. Love every bite of this yummy delight. If you guys have not tried is as yet I urge you —for the sake of those taste buds that are probably starved. It is not an easy ride but once you get your hands on it, trust me every little effort is worth and the best investment that you could make ever towards a better you. You can find tons of recipe on YouTube, but here are the simple steps that I follow to get what you see in the picture ☝️grate half cauliflower and then sauté it on a non stick pan for 10 minutes on the lowest flame. This is only to reduce the water content of this wonderful vegetable. Once cooled down transfer it in a mixing bowl. Mix cheese, one egg, some psyllium husk (about one tsp), quinoa flour (about one tsp). Add some salt and spices of your choice. I really like basil and paprika in it. Mix all this well and then spread it on a parchment paper only to bake it. Bake it till the top is brown. Flip it and bake the other side as well. Now this is ready. Follow the same steps as you would to make your pizza. I know what you did last supper!Je was druk aan het kletsen, zat op je telefoon of werkte door terwijl je je eten naar binnen schoof. Toch? En bedenk nu eens wanneer je voor het laatst aan het eten was en niets anders deed dan dat. Wanneer je aandacht had voor wat er op je bord lag, hoe het smaakte, hoe je erop kauwde. En dat je tussen twee happen eten even je bestek neerlegde. Klinkt bijna idioot? Of op z’n minst saai? Toch is het aan te raden voor je verzadiging, spijsvertering en (mentale) gezondheid. • De wetenschap is er inmiddels over uit dat er een connectie is tussen de hersenen en de darmen. Daarbij gaat de communicatie beide kanten op. Door die zogenaamde hersen-darm-as kun je darmproblemen gaan ondervinden als je weinig aandacht voor je eten en/of stress hebt. Dat zit zo: zodra je hersenen een probleem signaleren - bijvoorbeeld tijdsdruk of een andere vorm van stress - willen ze dat oplossen. De extra energie die ze daarvoor nodig hebben, lenen ze voor een groot deel van de darmen. En dat gaat ten koste van je vertering, doorbloeding van de darm en productie van slijmstoffen. Met darmklachten tot gevolg. Wanneer dat patroon zich bovendien langere tijd herhaalt, kunnen je darmklachten en daaraan gerelateerde klachten toenemen. Denk aan vermoeidheid, opgeblazen buik en verminderde weerstand, maar ook mentaal minder goed in je vel zitten. Nou, reden genoeg voor meer mindfulness en ontspanning tijdens het eten? New Low FODMAP Cookbook review 👩‍💻⠀ ⠀ Recently, we have been blessed with a shower of new #LowFODMAP cook books. Last week, a new Amazon-exclusive book hit the electronic shelves – “Low FODMAP Recipes From The Fat Foodie: Making IBS-Friendly Low FODMAP Food Good!”.⠀ ⠀ This book was published by Jane Cessford, a British Low FODMAP blogger, who runs the blog @thefatfoodieblog who was very kind to send us a copy of her new #book to review. (A side yet important note: as you probably already know, even if I am gifted with products, I will always publish my honest and full opinion).⠀ ⠀ This cookbook is ginormous – 150 recipes over 341 pages. However, at the same time it’s also a humble cookbook – you won’t find here any fancy photos, sophisticated graphics and photoshop editing. No gimmicks here.⠀ ⠀ Nonetheless, it holds SO MUCH useful information and wonderful, almost average-Joe recipes. Jane stresses that she is not a dietitian, just a #FODMAPper who loves food and cooking.⠀ ⠀ Each recipe carries an introduction with very useful FODMAP information, like the Low FODMAP serving amounts as well as interesting anecdotes about the dish.⠀ ⠀ The book contains an interesting mix of recipes. On one hand you get very basic recipes like Pouched Eggs on Toast, yet on the other hand there are more advance recipes like Aloo Palack or Coconut Chana Masala.⠀ ⠀ The price is also humble, at least for the electronic version. The #Kindle e-book edition is £7.99 and the paperback edition is £27.99. The good news is that it's available to buy from Amazon worldwide. 🌍⠀ ⠀ All in all, this is a very resourceful Low FODMAP cookbook. The value for money factor is definitely in place. As far as I could tell, I couldn’t see any High #FODMAP recipes in this book.⠀ ⠀ Even though its design is basic – I reckon this is part of the book’s magic. It’s an honest book by a #FODMAPper who loves food and wants to share her love with the world. You know what – not always everything has to be sophisticated and perfect. Dinner tonight. Okay, we had sausages, too, but those were not nearly as pretty as this salad. On a different note, I received more test results today and found out my c-reactive protein is elevated enough for them to refer me to a GI doc. But this is Kaiser. And they don't have anything available until September 6 and even then only a 15 minute phone visit. Kaiser follows a strict protocol. The idea is that the GI doc talks to me and makes some recommendation (based on a non-existing diagnosis). If I don't better I will be invited to an in person visit for further testing. The problem with this is that I cannot go through another month of this pain. So back to my naturopath I go. I want a diagnosis. No more guess work. Also, kids, if you don't want to get freaked out by what could potentially be wrong with you, do not Google!! Because you will always have cancer, no matter what. Onward!! When bacon and goat cheese are meal plan approved 😍 I cut spaghetti squash in half and roasted at 350 for about 45 minutes (perfect timing during my workout), until I could easily shred with a fork. Meanwhile, I cooked bacon according to the package and also warmed up green beans, then plated as pictured and sprinkled with goat cheese. Easy, inexpensive, and delicious!

After a bunch of DM’s I decided to take this from my story and make a post about it!!! . As many of you know, I follow a “diet” called “flexible dieting” or IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros). During my first prep I was on a meal plan but I found that long term it wasn’t a sustainable way of eating for me personally. IIFYM allows me to fill my ‘calorie budget’ with the foods I choose as long as I hit my fiber and micronutrient goals along with it. . On the topic of gut health, I’ve lately been monitoring my digestion more closely to figure out which foods my body likes most and make me feel & perform my best! After @hollytbaxter talked about FODMAPs I looked into it more and found that reducing my intake of some high FODMAP foods has drastically reduced signs of indigestion like bloating, lethargy & gas. The term FODMAP is an acronym, derived from "Fermentable Oligo-, Di-, Mono-saccharides And Polyols". FODMAPs are short chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine. Which can lead to the above symptoms! #themoreyouknow . 💥 Did you know that your gut is responsible for an estimated 90% of your serotonin production? A delicious twist on tacos, these Low FODMAP Taco Stuffed Peppers 🌶 make an easy, weeknight meal! . . PEPPERS 1 lb. ground beef (or turkey) ½ cup tomato puree* ¼ cup water 2 tsp. low FODMAP taco seasoning (recipe on the blog) 2 medium bell peppers, cut in half, stem and seeds removed ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese, optional . GARNISHES Diced tomatoes Sliced black olives Chopped chives Cilantro Low FODMAP Salsa (recipe on the blog) . INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 400°F. In a large skillet, brown ground beef until done. Stir in tomato puree, water, and taco seasoning. Scoop taco mixture into pepper halves, distributing evenly. Bake for 20 minutes. Top with (optional) cheese and bake for 10 minutes more. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before topping with optional garnishes and serving. . NOTES Tomato Puree: Double check ingredients for FODMAP-containing foods. . Recently discovered these yummy flavoured smoothies from @rokebyfarms 🤤 Hubby & I tried the salted caramel and chocolate 👉🏻 They were full of flavours and super delicious ❤ . According to @monashfodmap the cut-off for lactose is 1g per serve, which means they will be considered as low fodmap at 250ml 😊 An interesting note, research has actually shown that most people with lactose intolerance can tolerate up to 4g of lactose per sitting, so you most likely would be fine even if you drink the whole bottle 😝 .
