i’m coming to you on this friday afternoon with a book series that i feel the whole of bookstagram has read. can you guess from the chapters embellishments already? or maybe from the first couple of sentences? it’s by , of course. yes, i have read the entire series - except for , because @ assured me it wasn’t really worth it and i was over the books at that point already, anyway. i’m not a big fan of maas‘ writing, which i find to be quite repetitive, but apart from that and a few things that i still can’t get over i liked this series well enough. it was entertaining, which is its purpose, i guess. and here, my main points of dislike, because i can’t keep my mouth shut: feyre was too entitled for my liking and i didn’t get the tamlin bashing at all. yes, he isn’t necessarily a good guy, but the way feyre treats him isn’t entirely fair, either, is it? i honestly could discuss this a while, as i do hate characters that suffer a completely arbitrary identity change just to fit a certain narrative and that’s exactly what happened in tamlin’s case. if you want to know more of my thoughts, check out my @ review, where i point out the main problems i had reading the series.
am i sharing an again or do some of you feel similarly? what exactly is your stand on sarah j maas in general?
i’m off to dinner with friends now. a very happy weekend to you! 🌙
