In reading through I have become increasingly aware that while I’ve enjoyed a great many cocktails since I started this journey, I have often failed to try basic and simpler forms of classic recipes. As such, tonight I made a that reflects what the book calls a “root recipe.” I’m going to try a few of these as I read through the book. I think it really helps develop your palate for these recipes and identify what the individual ingredients contribute to its construction.
That’s it. Clean and simple. I drank this with no garnish of any kind and found the gin shine and the notes from the vermouth present. I had never had a Martini that didn’t have something else in it.
