🚨WHAT’S OK TO DRINK AND WHAT’S NOT🚨 (just some thoughts and ideas you might want to consider incorporating into your diet to see results faster🤷‍♂️) Many people consume a large amount of calories just from drinks alone so here’s a very general list of some things I drink regularly💦 OK: Water, Skim or 1% milk, coffee (with sweetener- not sugar), diet pop😍 (I drink it like water), Minute Maid light lemonade (everything they offer in ‘light’), crystal light 10 calorie ice tea and lemonade packs, diet monster, low sugar Red Bull, unsweetened almond milk, propel/Powerade zero, and other low cal options WHAT TO AVOID🚫: Regular pop and energy drinks, sugar in coffee, limit the amount of cream in your coffee, whole milk, lemonade, all sugary drinks (be smart), orange juice, apple juice, Sports drinks (outside of training), milkshakes (lol) ON THE BASIS OF ALCOHOL🍸(to whom it may concern): Alcohol is empty calories and does not have any benefits whatsoever. Effects on muscle building and fat loss: 1. It dehydrates you- it does the opposite of creatine (creatine pulls water into the muscles, alcohol pulls water out of them)😐 2. Decreases testosterone production😧 3. Decreases protein synthesis (slows down recovery)😯 4. Puts your body in a state to store fat😬 5. Usually leads to poor eating choices If you are going to: Stay hydrated, have an extra scoop of protein that day, no sugary drinks, save up fats and carbs to account for the calories you’ll drink, DONT EAT GREASY FOODS🍔🍕- eat something leaner, it will set you back but stay on the diet the next day and return to the grind✊ Stay massive fam and live the healthy lifestyle😁 #gymshark #massivefam #fitness #motivation #gymshark66 #donsquad #lit #fit #lifestyle #gym #diet #myfitnesspal

🚨WHY DO YOU LIFT?🚨this is the MOST important question you must ask yourself when getting into fitness. Why do you lift? Is it so others look at you different? You want to impress someone else? This may get you in the gym for the first week or two, but you must dig deeper and think about what YOU want for yourself. I know the reason I do it is because I love the idea of working toward the best version of myself, and challenging myself.🔥 Everyone wants quick results, but are not willing to put in the work. Unlike many things in life, a good physique is not something that can be bought— rather it is earned through countless hours in the gym and proper nutrition.🔨 People have asked me what I think the toughest lift is. 🏋️‍♂️The toughest lift is lifting my lazy ass off the couch and getting to the gym.🍑 There is nothing easier than going to the gym when your motivated and feel great, but what are you going to do when the going gets tough, you don’t feel motivated, and you get crap for lifting and counting your macros(cuz if you haven’t already you will)? Are you going to give up? That’s when you have to think back to why it is that you’re doing this. 🥐Bulking Update🥩 So far in my bulk I have gained about 2kg. I'm noticing a huge gain in chest size, traps size and definitely arm size and pumps. Strength is soaring which I am loving! Coming from never doing a bulk, cutting for 10months down to barely any muscle and now gaining so much strength and size is definitely huge motivation! 🔬Lesson🔬 I ended my cut consuming 1500 calories per day. I wanted to lose another 2kilos before I started bulking but my metabolism caught up and I just couldn't drop the calories any further. I wasn't sleep, I was tired all the time and just generally felt so out of my own mind that it was scary. I estimated that my metabolism had adjusted my Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) to about 1600-1700 calories. This means that my Maintenance Calories had dropped from my starting 2800 calories while being a Boar, to 1700 while pushing to Thor. So to start my bulk, I first reversed dieted to strengthen my BMR. I consumed 1800 calories for 4 days (100calorie surplus), then went up to 1900 for 5 days, and then sat at 2000 for about 8 days. I noticed no weight gain that week, So I have put myself up to 2300 calories per day. This in theory means that my BMR is now sitting at around 2000-2100 calories and I am remaining in a 100-200 calorie surplus. Remember. Caloric Deficit for Fat Loss, High Protein. Small Caloric Surplus for Lean Gains, medium Protein. DM me if you want nutrition advice to get your goals achieved faster than ever! #canberra

If your serious about fat loss for 2019 and are not sure where to start here’s some tips(DOCTORS HATE ME FOR THIS): 1️⃣ You need to find your maintenance calories (exactly how many calories you eat to stay the same weight) by using MyFitnessPal and track what you eat for a week 2️⃣ After you find your maintenance calories, you need to put yourself in a calorie deficit (where you eat less calories than you burn in a day) if you want a slow and steady traditional cut drop your maintenance calories by 300, if you want to be more aggressive, drop those calories by 500 3️⃣ Once you find out what you can eat in one day using MyFitnessPal then stick to it. You can use the “if it fits your macros” approach, however I don’t recommend it because you will spend most of your day stuck on ‘counting your calories’ and your body will not be used to the different foods your taking in and it’ll cause fluctuations - simply put: once you find a way to hit your new calories and you enjoy it, then eat those same things everyday so you don’t have to count your cals. 4️⃣Cardio is a plus, you don’t need it, but if there was a magic pill to fat loss then this is it. Have a game plan and progressively add cardio over time, don’t go balls to the walls on day 1 because you won’t stick to it. 5️⃣once you stop losing weight after about 2 months, which may happen because your body will adapt, its time to either add more cardio or cut your calories by 100 or 200 6️⃣ no matter how much salad or chicken breast you fill your day with, you will be hungry and that’s that but it’s the price you gotta pay to achieve that body that you want. It’s something you just gotta accept and it’s gonna take some willpower so deal with it🦴 7️⃣GO TREAT YO SELF, you can take a day on a weekend and go out to eat or something like that! Just earn that ish- go hard in the paint during cardio all week to earn that meal👊👊👊if you cheat on your diet, don’t binge! It’s not the end of the world🤷‍♂️ it happens, just get back on your diet tomorrow! Things will balance themself out. ALL IN ALL-there is no magic pill to losing fat, don’t go waste your money on supplements, just go be an animal and get after it🔥🔥

With the new year in full swing, what better way to kick it off than to take part in the @Gymshark’s #Gymshark66 challenge to improve my physique and self-confidence! As some of you know I have been spending the past couple of months at home job hunting and not doing much besides going to the gym. Now, as 2019 begins, I wanted to take on the challenge of being the best version of myself and to get into a routine instead of sleeping in til late morning 😅😅 So, for the #Gymshark66 challenge, I will be more productive at home to finally find a job and at the gym I will push myself to the limits to improve my physique. To help me train hard while eating the right stuff, I’ll continue getting help from @Zacperna with his workout and diet plan! Having guidance from Zac has been really helpful and the #MassiveFam has been a great source of support both with training and diet. So a big shout out to @Zacperna for what he has created 💪💪 The reason for me taking this challenge is being at home and not getting anywhere with the job hunt has been pretty draining and having something to focus on and distract myself from rejections will help me mentally. The habit loop ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To put it simply, the habit loop is when you're able to do something without even thinking about it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀ How much do you think when you brush your teeth, make your cup of coffee in the morning...? Not much, or at all! 🤔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The habit loop is a 3 part process. The first one being a "trigger" that tells your brain to do something. The second is the action taken. And the third is the "reward". Something that tells your brain it likes it and helps create the habit. . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day 1/ For the next 66 days (the amount of time it takes to pick up a new habit), I'll be taking part in the #gymshark66 challenge.💪 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While I've been fairly consistent with posting on here, I do have days where I don't.
