💥High Protein + Fat meal prep going down💥 Yes purposely high fat because 1. Yum, 2. It's super filling, and 3. It's hopefully going to aide my digestion and help to clear up my skin 👌 - Soooo it goes a little like this: ▫️Breakfast: smoothie with berries, almond milk, water, peanut butter, cinnamon and egg white protein powder ▫️Snack 1: Cheese and cucumber - made into lil sammies 😍 ▫️Lunch: Turkey, avocado, spinach and coleslaw salad ▫️Snack 2: 2 hard boiled eggs and 30g mixed nuts ▫️Dinner: Some form of protein + fat + veggie combo - My macros for tomorrow are for about 1500 cals, with 19g of carbs, 94g of protein and 117g of GOOD fats 💙 last time it took me a good 3 days to get used to this macro split, but then it was easy peasey and very satisfying - even the sugar cravings were gone!! My day off work means testing out new recipe and an early dinner! Tonight I made the ‘caprese hassleback chicken’ from the new Thermomix Cookbook ‘Meals in a flash’ on Cookidoo. This recipe is cooked in full in the Thermomix, however I chose to cook my chicken, tomatoes and asparagus in the oven for more flavour. Firstly I made fresh basil pesto (recipe off the Basic cookbook via Cookidoo). There is no comparison to store bought! I then cooked the risoni as per the recipe, putting my chicken in the oven at the same time. This meal is delicious! I made it with two chicken breasts and it’s quite filling, so ended up giving hubby half my chicken. Easy Oven Roasted Chicken Shawarma BY @jocooks 📷 * Ingredients Chicken Shawarma 3 chicken breasts boneless and skinless 2 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp turmeric 2 tsp cumin powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp ground black pepper 1 tsp salt juice from 2 lemons 1/2 cup olive oil 1 tsp red pepper flakes 1 large onion sliced fresh parsley for garnish 4 cloves garlic minced Garlic Sauce 1 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup lemon juice 6 cloves garlic peeled 1 egg white* 1 tsp salt Chicken Shawarma Wraps hummus tabbouleh salad garlic sauce pita wraps * Instructions : Chicken Shawarma In a large bowl add the lemon juice, olive oil, salt, cumin, black pepper, paprika, turmeric, red pepper flakes, cinnamon, garlic, and whisk well. Add the chicken and toss making sure the chicken is well coated in the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least an hour. The longer the meat marinates the more flavour you'll have. Preheat oven to 425 F degrees. Add sliced onion to bowl with chicken and toss well so that the onion is fully coated in the marinade. Add everything to a 9x13 baking dish. I didn't have much marinade leftover since the chicken absorbed most of it, so that's why I added everything to the baking dish. Spread everything evenly over the baking dish. Bake in the oven until the chicken is browned and crisp on the edges, for about 40 to 45 minutes. If you want the chicken crispier on top, turn the broiler on to high and broil for 3 minutes until nice and crispy on the outside. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes, then slice it into bits. Garlic Sauce Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, it should take 1 to 2 minutes. This recipe will make about 1 1/2 cups of sauce, refrigerate leftover sauce. Chicken Shawarma Wraps To make the chicken shawarma wraps, warm up the wraps first in the microwave for about 30 seconds, then spread some hummus over each wrap, spoon about 2 or 3 tbsp of tabbouleh salad, add chicken shawarma, and drizzle with garlic sauce and serve.

Meal prep Monday’s. Don’t you love starting the week feeling organised and on top of everything for the 6 next days ahead. I do! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Preparing some meals ahead of time and increasing the quantity of food cooked = more time up your sleeve during the week to do other things. Think about how long you’d save yourself at night when you get home from work if your dinner was all ready to go. Even better .. leftovers can be turned into lunch for the following day! Tonight I have an 8 hour slow cooked beef in the pot which should be ready when I get home. This week I’ve opted for more of the Italian flavours with plenty of fresh parsley, oregano, chilli and lemon. I’ll most likely pair this with some cauliflower rice, as a lower carb (but still delicious) option. What types of food do you enjoy prepping?
