Zentangles are a relatively new idea from the states, invented by a couple of artists in Massachusetts way back in 2003. Commonly described as "yoga for the mind" it involves filling a square or rectangle with random marks and shapes to create a unique design. The practice is being taught in schools and colleges and also in therapy groups as a way to deal with the trauma and anxiety of physical and mental illness. But, in addition to all its therapeutic merits, it is just enormous FUN TO DO! 😍...here are a few of my efforts showing how I took some of my designs further, to explore how they would look coloured and shaded. If I do say so myself, I think they're rather fetching! 😋
Why not have a go yourselves!?
