Vegetable Pilaf Turkish style for Christmas. 1/2 cup rice, soaked in 4 cups of water for half an hour. Boil and cook till almost cooked, drain it. In a pan heat oil, and temper 1,clove,3 black pepper, 1bayleaf, add 1tsp garam masala, 1/2 cup of mixed veg of your choice, flower of 1 rose petal, 1tbsp rose water, salt to taste. Cook till tender. Mix rice with it.
Take a 6 inch ramikin, cover it with filo pastry, place pilaf and fill it to the top. Cover it with filo pastry and bake in pre-heated oven gas mark 5 for 20 to 30 minutes or golden. Serve with Italian rose wine or of your choice.
