CONGRATS to November's MALE athlete of the month: @
Brodie has been a member at CrossFit River Prairie for a few months now and shows up day-after-day, week-after-week. He pushes himself in each workout and doesn't shy away from a challenging weight or movement. He continuously gives his best effort, cheers others on, is extremely coachable and loves to have fun.
We asked him a few questions about his CrossFit experience, here's what he had to say:
When did you first start CrossFit?
June 2017. First workout was the Murph. (a HERO WOD where you run 1 mile, do 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats and finish with another 1 mile run)
What were you doing for exercise before CrossFit?
Very traditional workouts at Crest (University Gym). I would essentially rotate between, Chest and Arms || Legs and Back
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Clean or Deadlift. Feels good picking up heavy weight.
What are your goals in the next 6 months?
I’d like to develop a stronger core because having a strong core is essential to almost all CrossFit movements. Also if I could get a muscle up, that would be pretty sweet.
What motivates you to keep coming to the gym week after week?
I love to compete, I’m always striving to get better so I can throw some impressive numbers up.
What are 1 or 2 accomplishments when it comes to your health and fitness that you've experienced since starting at CrossFit River Prairie?
My shoulder mobility and overall flexibility has increased tremendously. Still working on keeping my legs 100% straight for some stretches but I’ve been cursed with incredibly tight hamstrings so that’s still a work in progress.
What's your favorite color?
To be very specific in the RGB color space, (Also known as Ocean Boat Blue). Everyone should be learning their colors in Hex haha.
What's your favorite music to workout to?
For music I prefer upbeat Pop/ Hip Hop. Unless it’s Friday then its strictly
What is your least favorite exercise?
It’s a toss up between overhead squats and thrusters. Both movements suck the wind out of me.
