You May Say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one - John Lennon (the other side of my sign)
I was born in the 80s to an illegal immigrant. She was working as a paramedic learning the trade to help save lives in this country. She had me on a water bed, one cold night in March about 500 ft from the border. She is My mother. She is the reason I am strong, she is the reason I am independent, and she is the reason I'm a dreamer.
I was born those things, but my mom is those things as well, she embraced those characteristics, she plays a big role in shaping the woman I am today. Being a dreamer means more than citizenship, it means that because of this place where my mom purposely had me, I was able to attain a life of education and fulfilled bucket lists.
I was brought up with certain ideals, as many of us are- ironically my high school journal were I admitted I like a girl followed by it's not okay because God doesn't think it's okay. Or how I was brought up to be anti pot... but being a dreamer I always questioned and challenged the status quo-
I ask you all to think for yourselves (but let's not deny science guys, earth is not fucking flat), to not allow the perpetuation of fears come into your hearts...the issue is not of a particular race, religion, gender or sexual preference... it's about the poor hearts of a select few, so don't let your heart grow cold. I remind my self everyday, keep the spirit of a child alive, because that is hope.
