I have had several issues with my digestion and my gut health that caused symptoms like food sensitivities, bloat, leaky gut syndrome, sore joints and lots of inflammation. Sauerkraut on the side & topped with goats cheese crumbles & black sesame seeds - another newbie 😋 As you can tell I’m a huge creature of habit so introducing new ingredients is a conscious effort and I’m loving it. Even switching up meats adding pork in is important. Low FODMAP doesn’t have to be boringly repetitive, make small tweaks to your faves to keep eating exciting to suit your lifestyle. Stir fry or one pan meals help me with my busy schedule or when I have fatigue. 😊🧡

My #NotSoTransformationTuesday . The photo on the left was taken over 3 years ago. My digestion and insides had just felt like they exploded and I all of a sudden couldn’t eat! Like ANYTHING! It didn’t matter what it was... everything left me in utter agony. At the time I thought I’d need a few weeks to get better and back to normal... but, my body had a different game plan! . So I went and saw a dr. The suggestion... maybe I was lactose intolerant. Hence me holding a glass of milk for the test they wanted to run (the face is because I HATE milk! Always have!!). But if I wanted to get better then I did what I had to. The test results? Yep apparently I was. GREAT! I found the solution! Lol!... until I cut it out and nothing changed. . So I went to an allergy dr. Oh I was apparently allergic to beef and eggs. So... I cut those out. Results?... Nada! So then I went to a Gastroentorologist. Test after test after test. Results?... Nothing. An immune dr.... nope! Since then I’ve tried the Fodmap diet. The Keto diet. The histamine diet. The fermented diet. Organic only. Supplements. Removing items. Adding items.... results... absolutely F all! And that has led me to the photo on the right. . Taken a week ago when I had yet another agonizing day. From what? No bloody clue! But I haven’t given up. I don’t pity myself. Well actually that’s a lie! I allow myself 30 mins of frustration when something I try doesn’t work. I say out loud to Tom that this f***ing sucks! I moan and bitch. Then, when the time is up, I switch my mind back to being solution oriented and go after the new trial with utter positivity and enthusiasm. I know how powerful the mind is and so I won’t allow MYSELF to hold MYSELF back with negative thinking! . So sadly my transformation here is very little. But I haven’t given up. In fact I REFUSE to! I guess I’m just stubborn enough to not let it break me! There WILL be a day I do a Transformation where I’m talking about my solution. Because there IS a solution! I just haven’t found it... yet!

I don’t particularly like making mistakes. Who does?? But I must admit that mistakes are great teachers. ♥️ . . Baking bread is a constant reminder of our human condition. The aim of bread baking is daily bread that nourishes and brings joy in the process and the aesthetics. 🥖 . . But some days we get thrown off or just make an error. Those circumstances don’t mean we declare ourselves failures. We can evaluate and learn, which means we grow—as bakers and as people. 🌱 . . If we can approach the hard days of parenting, relationships, career, etc. like this, we could extend more grace to ourselves and others. 🕊 . . And hopefully, even the mistakes leave us with something imperfect but still delicious (like this way over hydrated slice of bread). No need to fixate on a failure when there’s an opportunity to try again tomorrow. 🌸

This doesn't look super appetizing the way I preparef it, but if you knew this may potentially protect you from getting sick, would you eat it? . . So we are in Barcelona, well 20 minutes from city center and thank goodness my boyfriend found us a spacious place with kitchenette and close to Supermarkets, because he got violently sounding sick over night, so this room is perfect for his recovery. We think it was food or water related [remember my stream water post😂]... . . Even though I ate the exact same things (plus way too much Brie I brought along, maybe that protected me LOL) I'm fine [knock on wood]. The MAIN difference though is that I drink my superfoods shake.....I believe that the prebiotics in it have helped strengthen my gut microbiome which helps protect you from other invaders [in simple terms]. . . We do other things to do the same, which Bret has been doing himself, but....well this was the only difference. . . So while I'm not having it daily because of low travel supply, I think it has an accumulative lasting effect once you have had it on the regular, like I have over the past three years. Justsaying 😁

This is probably one of the most important posts I’ve put up. Some of us may know that an increasing body of scientific research reveals that our current dietary guidelines are literally killing us. Diets high in healthy fats (nuts, seeds, oils, avocado, salmon) and low in carbs help us live longer and fuller lives. It’s time we increase awareness and change the way we eat. . Childhood obesity, heart disease, dementia, premature cognitive slowing, diabetes, strokes, autoimmunity are at all time highs. Our current dietary guidelines to limit fats to <30% and increase carbs needs to be changed. Only then can we as a society become healthier and live better. Morning! spinach banana smoothie to start my day!💚 . TRUTH. My digestion has me all messed up...again!😰 not proud, but real life. . {Health journey's are not easy!!!} . My number one digestive complaint...boating and burping. Yep. Attractive, i know!🙄 . After i did my 6 week rest last spring i was feeling great, and went back to "my normal" way of eating. Which is pretty clean... but now I'm back to bloating on the daily. I saw my naturopathic dr last week he said i had leaky gut after he did my physical. I wasnt surprised. .
