Happy 12th Anniversary to us!!! What a beautiful Christmas wedding we had! It was 70 degrees and just perfect. It wasn’t the dress, the decorations, the weather, or the other details. All of the love is what makes that day and our marriage so sacred and special. Oh the love that we share. I remember the day I met Alan for the first time. I was instantly drawn to him. I truly believe it was Gods Plan for us to be together. Years ago, before we were married, we were stationed up in NY and living in a tiny 1 bedroom basement apartment which I’m sure was a fire code violation. My passion for nursing began up there and I was about to embark on my college journey for nursing school. Money was super tight (Hello living in NY in your early 20’s). Alan encouraged me to move back home to VA to pursue nursing. I remember him sitting me down on the patio while we were having a bbq and telling me what he thought was best. We were long distance for 5 years while I was in school before settling down. That’s how I knew he was my soul mate. He wanted what was best for me, not him. He has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams and 100% been my best friend throughout this marriage. Do I miss him like crazy? Sure do! It’s not easy being away from him on our Anniversary, but I am proud to be his wife. There is so much love in my heart and home with 2 beautiful kids and the sweetest fur baby. Now I’m not going to pretend like today was perfect. It was a hard parenting day with a baby that barley napped. I yelled at Charlie, our dog, after he tracked in mud for the 100th time. My patience is thin and I could use a major mommy time out. Lately I’ve been dreaming about going away on a retreat when baby is weaned from breastfeeding. That might be 2 years down the road but I’m ok with that. So cheers to our messy, beautiful life. Now who wants to watch the kids while I go get a massage my husband gifted me? 😁👏🥰
