If you’re a conscious mama or would like to be one someday soon, then like me, you are looking to remove as much environmental toxins from your baby’s life.✨
You also know it’s not easy, everywhere you look there are ingredients that make you question whether or not this is safe & your pronunciation😂. And if you’re anything like me you spend most your time in the aisles of Target on google trying to understand why aluminum is part of your baby’s butt powder🧐
Since this is my third, I have already done plenty of research on the products I put on my newborn’s sensitive skin. They are already exposed to so much from their clothes, their crib sheets and our furniture, to everyone’s hands touching their cute cheekies. The last thing I wanna do is overload my little one with more— especially harsh chemicals☠️🙅🏽♀️ keep that shit away from me😂
With our first two, we already chose organic brands we trust. Now, with my third I’m going a step further... I’m ganna make my own👐 whenever I can.
I made this toxic-free diaper cream in about 10 minutes and it’s made with natural ingredients I trust and have researched from the best conscious brands out there— and on a side note, there are more and more amazing brands creating baby products that are kind to their skin and undeveloped immune systems! I applaud them and thank them for their dedication!👏
The ingredients I chose are to protect baby’s bum from diaper rash and keep it soft and dry!🤱🏽
HomeMade Toxic-Free 🍑 Diaper Cream:
•1 cup organic coconut oil •2 tbsp beeswax •1/4 cup organic Cacao butter or cocoa/shea butter •5 drops grapefruit (or lavender, orange)
•5 drops tea tree
•2 tbsp cornstarch/arrowroot
First, I shredded the beeswax and cacao butter with a regular cheese grater. Then, you mix the coconut oil (if solid), beeswax, and cacao butter in a double boiler until they melt nicely. Next, throw in the arrowroot and essential oils and with a hand mixer, mix until smooth.
Pour into your choice of container and you’re done! I let mine sit in the fridge for a little just to solidify, and i try to keep it in a room where the temp is under 76, but you don’t have to!😌
That’s it! Enjoy happy bums😇
