Saturday morning I woke up in my feelings (yes, I have feelings too). Missing time that I used to spend with friends and neighbors having brunch, outlet mall shopping, watching movies, and the night life in Texas. I had the urge to drive somewhere—anywhere for a girls day out. Selecting “friends” is difficult the higher you go up in an organization and I had a lonely moment.
So I decided to take Lyric with me to Niagara Falls. We shopped, ate, talked, and had a great time with just the two of us. I learned so much in the time we had together alone. I didn’t know she read so many books last year. She literally talked me the whole way in the car about her interests and the books that stood out to her.
We discussed boys and relationships and why one even needs to think of that at 14. We talked about her future, our goals as a family over the next year, and my career goals. It was the perfect day with the perfect girl. #HappySunday ❤️ #mommydaughtertime #summertime #summerishere #listentoyourkids
