When I am helping someone get started and asking what they can start doing to get results... After they have told me what they are willing to start doing... I ask “could you see yourself doing that long term?” If they are in agreement, (Eg I could have a smaller portion of X) then that is what we start doing!
If it’s a definite “no!” ( I cant give up wine for long! 😉) Then we go through the process again.
If it’s “let’s see how we get on” (Maybe they are trying new foods) then I monitor it and if it’s obvious they are struggling, we look at how it can be modified to make it more long term.
The hardest bit to be honest for anyone is getting started, taking action is the most important thing... But to get long term results the action has to be sustainable. 😉👍
