A to the summer - and the heatwave that meant we spent weekend after weekend snorkelling for hours as a time, watching sea creatures like this little Comb Jellyfish (actually a Ctenophore). Swipe right to see it shimmer! Beroe cucumis are sack-shaped and can reach up to 15 cm in length, the ones we saw were between 2 and 9cm. It swims with eight lengthways combs of transverse rows of hair, which beat in waves, causing the multicoloured shimmering that makes them look so otherworldly and beautiful ✨
Apparently they are phosphorescent at night, I may have to go back at night this year to see it.
